CBSNews.com Reports: Despite High-Profile Cases In The Media, Maternal Homicide Victims Tend To Be Young And Often, Black
- these people.....the problem is that there is still classification of "white people" "black people" "brown people". It is so ridiculous. The color of skin has nothing to do with your ancestry. There are white people living in countries like South Africa, they are african, not european anymore just like there are blacks that can classified as europeans, blacks that are hispanics.... This label "hispanic" is so ridiculous, there are hispanics who have english last names because maybe their english last named father married a mexican lady and a generation later the son marries a woman with a german last name, so what is that? their kid is still hispanic?. I got white friends married to black women, there are a lot of black men married to white women as well, so their kids are what?all this racial judging will stop when people mix more and they cannot tell who is what. In a way it was always like this. If you go to Germany you will see that most of them are not blond haired blue eyed like hollywood wants you to think. There are no racial certainties. another thing, those out there that pay websites like genealogy.com beware!! I know my ancestry all the way to 1460 I had it done by city hall back in the german town my grandpa was from and genealogy. com came up with with something totally different, they try to give you royal blood sometimes in order to get you to pay.

Wow - you managed to prove my point in just two sentences! You replied to MY pointing out how women are abusive & men are afraid to come forward because of a women led effort to shame them - how??? That''s right, by ironically referring to me as a girl!

- As I read these comments all I could do was sigh. How are we expected as a nation to turn things around and make the world a better place if we''re all so caught up in our anger? Looking hard at our nation''s history it''s not too difficult to understand why the anger''s there. Economically and sociologically it''s a have or have not world, one that''s even moreso today. Life is full of inequities and historically the lives of the have not''s in this country have been fraught with peril and violence. With that up front, knowing that for many of us the deck is stacked from the beginning, why must we continually promote infighting and bigotry and racism with angry banter like this? What is more horrific..the statistics and partisan sniping or the fact that we are fighting amongst ourselves over this, over the horror of women being killed just because they are pregnant? Why aren''t we just outraged as a nation instead? Outraged over boorish, thuggy, sexist, violent behaviors and mentalities that keep our families and our society so out of balance and on edge? Pity the murdered, their families and the families that will never be.

I agree, but as he gets ever closer to the white house, you will begin to see many many more stories like this throughout the media. America at its best! - Reply to this comment

Are you KIDDING me? If I were a smart, educated, well spoken black man???? I''d have gotten my PICK of colleges - free ride - top jobs - heck, I could even become the President of the Uni.... um - yeah.... - Reply to this comment
- 1) Boy - yet ANOTHER example of how they don''''t accept responsibility!
Don''''t you see the irony of responding to MY assertion that you don''''t accept personal responsiblity by saying, "...yeah, but it''''s whitey''''s fault"
Amazing... simply amazing...
no wonder you occupy the lowest rung on the ladder

2) Exactly - the facts are that women are every bit as likely to be the perpetrator of domestic violence as men - however, because of societal pressures by an oppressive female population... men are reluctant to come forward. What''''s more - emotional & psychological abuse of men at the hands of women is rampant - and yet largely protected from any legal recourse. The courts are massively biased in favor or women - in fact, without a shred of evidence - many states will allow women to jail & defame men without much more than a phone call & a sob story... using this as a weapon is SO common it''''s considered standard practice among divorce attorneys...
Bottom line is - when are we going to finally address the problem of violent, abusive women in this country - thanks for the post.

LOL...that''s by YOUR standards in your little world, but I''d bet a year of your salary that you couldn''t walk a day in ANY minorities shoes without committing suicide, but of course CBS wouldn''t write/publish a story about that! - Reply to this comment

- I''m a white male and I would have to agree with the article. It''s quite obvious that stories with white women are shown on tv and given a lot more airtime. Maybe it''s because the story is much more shocking? Who knows, all I know is that it''s apparent that stories are released nationally more often if the victim is white.
