Comments on: Setback For Dan Rather Lawsuit Against CBS
Judge Dismisses Portions Of Ex-News Anchor's Suit But Rather's Attorney Says Central Claims Remain Intact
- Frank, never OVER-estimate the American people. It didn''t matter whether "facts" point to the Idiot Prince''s AWOL period. They simply didn''t care and wanted this war continued, taxes cut more and the constant wealth redistribution from public to the private rich people. Hell, even NPRers where questioning Kerry''s principles, knowing *** well, Kerry would''ve been better.

- Byron York did a column in 2004 listing the points accummulated by Bush year by year that fulfilled his commitment. It is an inconvenient truth that some people choose to ignore. Unlike Kerry''s military records or Clinton''s medical records Bush''s military, medical records are open for the public to view.

- The secretary wasn"t Killians secretary. She was a pool secretary. She also said Bush was "selected not elected". The son and widow of Killian said that wasn''t remotely how he felt about Bush. Killian made a special trip to be there when Bush got his wings.

Rather lost his street cred long ago and he''ll never gain it back. He makes himself look even more foolish by bringing this lawsuit. He''s grasping at straws with this case in the hope that he can regain some dignity, but he might as well move to South America. All respect is gone for ol'' Dan.- Reply to this comment
- Poor Dan Rather. I pray that he be rewarded for his character in a time when CBS Corporation and White House Regime will get their justice for its corruption. Dan Rather did nothing wrong but exercise his Constitutional Rights - Free of the Press. A civil violation that the White House criminals has managed to suppress.

- Dan Rather put out a story that a class of elementary kids in Dallas cheered when they heard the news. That was a whopper and he made a career of running whoppers. The Bush attack memos were the first time he was called on the carpet. Good riddance!!!!

- While I don''t like Dan Rather - he deserved what he got simply for the way he threw a fit and had Connie Chung tossed out because he was on vacation when the bombing of the Murrough building in Oklahoma City occurred and she handled it expertly - everybody forgets about the secretary who typed those documents that were later determined to be false. She said that she didn''t type them, BUT THAT SHE COULD HAVE BECAUSE THAT WAS THE KIND OF COMMENTS THE COMMANDER MADE ABOUT BUSH. So the documents were forged; the attitude and the essence of what Rather reported were ACCURATE.
And yes, CBS scrambled not to defend the accuracy of the essence of the report, but to turn its back on its long legacy of facing tough truths and to cave to the team of Rove/Bush which was busy publishing untruths about Kerry. - Reply to this comment
- They had no choice Dan,the bloggers picked your story apart, showing you were wrong. You believed the story before looking at the facts, because it fitted your agenda.Unlucky though, 20 years ago without the internet you would have got away with it.

- I watch CBS News when Rather was there, Couric has made the news too feminine for me. NBC is my choice after Rather.
