These are people that have ASKED, BEGGED, PLEDGED, PLEADED, and PROMISED WE, THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES for the opportunity to serve us in a type of representative/responsible manner that has had NOTHING to do with anything less than debachary, satiating the senses and criminal behavior. WE are paying for this, does anyone find this, at the very least, offensive to you as a person? WHO is accountable for this is very clear, WHO needs to be completely remade over and brought up to specs is very clear. Washington needs a severe cleansing and the sooner the better.

Back in nov. CBSnews reported on an awards ceremony for the scientists at nasa. Read some of the comments. Everyone was jumping all over cbs for running such a story. How dare they question our NASA hero''s or deny them the luxury of an all expense holiday in a 4 star hotel?

Previously i''ve seen some of the numbers of our dear elected congressmen and women on what we spend on them over and above their salaries. it''s incredible.!

This spending needs to be reigned in. At $40,000 a year, i''m being told that my taxes will need to go up to take care of the deficit. Personally, if the taxes are needed to keep our kids from getting our debt, then so be it but this stuff had better come to an end too!

As anti-Bush as I am, in all fairness I have to agree. This has been going on, as mentioned, for decades. I personally saw it going on in the early 80s well before either Bush or even before Reagan was in office long enough to be a factor.

And to point out what a little research reveals, not only has this been going on for decades, some news organization reports on it at least once a year, and as shown in the article a patty slap if anything as punishment and at the very worst worst they may be required to "make restitution".

Being all cards are issued to an individual collect it back, jail the idiots, and then fire them and take their retirement programs to aid in repayment of money. When I was a card holder for SPAWAR I also had to have a purchase document signed by at least two supervisors to make sure they are legal purchases. Then each month, all statements went to the contracting department for their prerusal. That though, didn''t keep all purchases legal. At the end of the fiscal year, each year, I would be directed by my supervisor to make as many buys as possible to use up any money still unused. Buys of personal electronics, video cameras, laptops, furniture, gps equipment, flat screens, etc. that would be doled out to people by my department head as gifts. After I left SPAWAR, I kept receipts, signed by that department head for ten years just in case. That''s the card holder program I remember.

I am in the Coast Guard and am the credit card holder here at my unit. I am floored at the use of the cards. Ipods are NOT NOT NOT a legal purchase as far as the coast guard is concerned. Each purchase I make must have a purchase document signed by at least three people not to mention my supervisor checks my bank statement to make sure they are legal purchases. After all this it goes to our finance center who checks again. This makes me so angry...it makes the people who actually follow the rules look dishonest.
