..... and this is all the internets fault?

Sounds like the new excuse for Libs who are adverse to the idea of personal responsiblity.

Thats not libs, you have them confused with CONSERVATIVES who blame everyone but themselves for their kids failures and their own- musta been the TV did, musta been something they heard on the RADIO- those 4 letter words did it!

The girls should be punished, severly enough to make them forget about "cheerleading" or "springbreak", ever again."

What do you suggest? waterboarding them, or maybe methods the christian crusaders used to use in the middle ages to get confessions of witchcraft?

Disgusting beyond belief...and film clips of this shown on television are just what these perverted teens wanted! Why did the media GIVE them that pleasure~??"

Its all NEGATIVE attention, like um, when they try to get a JOB someday they will be recognized, an arrest will be on their record, if its a felony they will have to put that down on every job application that they were convicted of a felony.
I dont think THIS is the kind of attention they WANTED.

They wanted ''youtube'', and they got national and local media coverage instead. The girls should be punished, severly enough to make them forget about "cheerleading" or "springbreak", ever again. The story itself should have been told, but the video kept out of the public eye. The news should advertise...."We''ll make ya'' famous." How sad society promotes these things.

If paddling and spankings dont help discipline the children, then why does it seem that this generation of kids is much worse than any previous generation. How do you discipline your kids U2PlayNice giving them a time out? How were you disciplined?

Aside from the obvious problems with the crime, collapse of society, etc., what kind of ''tards document criminal activity?

They are so stupid I wouldn''t even harvest their organs out of fear of spreading stupidity to the organ recipients.

I was in 8th grade and a boy was trying to pull the front of my blouse down to put snow down my bra. I didn''t fight, but only tried to keep myself clothed and push him away. The teacher intervened, and I was punished for "fist fighting" by being told to stay after school and write I would not fist fight on the board 500 times.

I stayed after school, but refused to write this, because it was a lie. The boy even admitted it to the principal. I was outraged, but I just sat and cried. So they called my mother, telling her I wasn''t cooperating with my punishment. She promptly picked me up and when I returned to school the next day I was assigned to a different teacher.

Today that would be sexual harassment and I would be considered the victim I was, and the boy would probably be accused of sexual assault, which would be an over-reaction.

How times change.

Knroth...The school can not suspend students from activities that take place after school hours off of school property! The DA''s office will decide their fate! The school will decide if they want these girls to continue to cheer for their schools sport teams!

Those girls are very very very pathetic. They should be in jail for life and if i was a girl i wud beat the *** out of every one of them. That is so messed up and that girl was pretty much locked in. They are very pathetic people and didnt even feel sorry for what they did. They should all get beat just like she did and go partially blind in one ear and eye. That is very sad

Why is everyone blaming this on MySpace and YouTube and technology in general? These things happened before all that stuff!

Television, video games, the internet, cell phones- none of these things directly cause violence. Lack of common sense and problem-solving skills causes violence.

These kids were probably screwed up in the first place. I''m not an adult for another year- I use the internet a lot, I play violent video games, I have a cell phone, I watch violent movies and I would NEVER think of doing something like this. The blame lies nowhere but the stupid parents and their unrestrained children. I am especially saddened by the mother trying to defend her child. "Mean comments on MySpace, BOO HOO" is no excuse for an eight-vs.-one beatdown!

Thank you to Poldon72 for your comment. Being a parent is probably the toughest job any of us will ever have. We can all learn from each other. I often consult family and friends for their advice on a parenting situation that might come up. There are no perfect parents and thus no perfect children. I hope that the girls have learned from their serious mistake.
