I disagree with your opinion of public schools. I think the problem began when they took ptayer out of the schools. Ans i am not a christain. We had a candlelite ceremony in my high school with prayers. It was not mandatory for anyone to attend but strictly voluntary. Now they have banned it. I graduated public school, raisded four children, graduated college with a gpa of 3.8. My children have all turned out to be honest people and attended public schools. Towe are Catholic, one is Muslim and one is Baptist. I respect their right to choose what is right for them. My oldest son is an attorney, my oldest daughter works fopr world bank, my youngesty daughter is in the army and serving in Iraq. My youngest son is working a full time job. None have ever been in trouble with the law. - Reply to this comment

What poosition are you taking ? If these kids were in school with my children i would want them out permanently. They should be placed in juvenile as evidently their parents havent taught them what is right and wrong. If they can plot tlike this in third grade what will they be capable of when they are adults.

Out permanently isnt the solution and juvenile facilities can only hold them till thy turn 18, even if they DID murder the teacher, that is why I feel ALL juvie criminals should be treated like adults- especially for murder. I have no doubt the news will someday have at least some of these creaps on the front page arrest report. - Reply to this comment

The problems these kids have are much deeper than a spanking will cure. - Reply to this comment

I would like to know what you did at that point to correct the situation. Your son had some valid points, his actions were wrong, but he acted out to get results. I hope he has gotten the help he needed at the time. He seems like a fine boy. I think all of us get frustrated with the system not working properly at times. I do wish the best for you and your son. - Reply to this comment
- I don''t have time to read 20 pages of comments, but I''m wondering if anybody else commented on the extraordinary organizational skills of the ringleaders. If these children get the appropriate treatment (and yes, they need treatment), it would be wonderful to see these skills develop into something great as they become adults. In the meantime, the PARENTS should be answering some very hard questions.

- I would guess one of them stole them somewhere as regualr citizens cannot buy handcuffs. They are sold at stores that carry items for police and security only.

Nope, you can buy look-alikes at novelty stores as well as on-line. They are not PD quality of course, though one can buy them here;

Yes i believe a full investigationof the teacher should be done to make sure all the facts are accurate. But when nyou find out the teacher was doing her job and did nothing wrong how will you blame her then ? - Reply to this comment

I am sure you are an excellent parent from your comments. I am questioning the parents of these children and what these kids will be when they are adults. This was a serious plot to be done by third graders. I too raised twl children my myself. I am a father and they are grown, neither has had any problems with the law, my daughter is serving in Iraq now with the army. - Reply to this comment
