dogsoul: Great name for a person who seems to be the self made expert who worships his creator, but obviously has not been in a classroom since the last one he got thrown out of. Why not try to answer the question? And, by the way "culling" of the bad and "scholarships" to steal the good ARE two techniques used by virtually every private school in this country. Wake up and smell the real roses!

Folks,
If we all wish to address our children''s education, we must start at home - period.

Hey dogsoul,
If I am retarded per your compassionate conservative standards, what must you be under me?

"Incidentally, they should also study the small cities. I am sure the small cities statistics are no better."

Um, nimrod? They WERE comparing cities - specifically large ones versus small...

I don''t mean to bash you or anything, I mean - I think it''s great that retarded people can participate in open forums & I''m sure you''re a whiz compared to the rest of your friends from the institute...

"dogsoul, living up to the tag: Everyone should ALSO KNOW that private schools can and do get rid of anyone who is a behavior problem or has a drug issue- and where do they send them? To the public school. "

This argument is so pathetic... Ok - HOW OFTEN did kids actually get kicked OUT of private schools? You make it sound like private schools regularly practice some kind of ''culling'' of the ''problem children'' & therefore both dump the ''bad kids'' onto public schools while keeping the ''good kids'' - bullsh*t... fact is that while private schools DO on rare occassion kick out a student - it''s comparateively very rare - the vast vast vast vast majority of students are not kicked out...

Ridiculous - do you even THINK before you make these arguments?

The basic issue is that Public Schools operate just like ANY gov''t run organzation - poorly...

you also ask:

"Please tell me if the schools are at fault for being so bad at teaching, why are there fewer kids graduating?" - um.... huh? So you''re suggesting that the better the quality of education, the lower the graduation rate? My God... with THAT kind of logic - it''s almost as if you''re a teacher YOURSELF!

Folks,
Our Children drop out because nobody cares. Both parents are working and when they do get home, they are too tired and stressed out and only wish to watch cable to eliminate the stress. This aforementioned scenario is worst when there is only 1 parent in the household which is normal only in America!

Incidentally, they should also study the small cities. I am sure the small cities statistics are no better.

To the public school. Please tell me if the schools are at fault for being so bad at teaching, why are there fewer kids graduating? And,what is your solution? 1) Tougher standards and more demanding courses or 2) Dumbing down to get the kids to stay in school. An expert like you should have a quick answer to that easy question---- or do you choose to drop out?

"Why is it that everytime I confront dogsoul head on, he just quits? Am I too harsh or what? I just hate it when NeoCons just leave without saying good bye. "

Oh were you confronting me??? I''m sorry - it''s hard to distinguish what you say from general blather - besides, I''d much rather just bat you around like dried cat cr*p & move on... you bore me.

Fact is that I consider you just one very razor thin slice about those conspiracy theory whackjobs who I NEVER respond to...

so at least you got THAT going for you...

Um, hate to tell you this SkyFive - but you actually misspelled the word puncTuation...

I''m no spelling or grammer nazi by any means - but if you ARE going to bash people on those grounds - you better be d*mn sure yours is correct...

otherwise, it makes people cringe & wince

Hey SkyFive,
You remind me of another amigo on these cbsnews.com forums who just changes the subject to spelling and grammar becoz he fear the answers. How was my spelling and grammar here?

Your spelling is lacking accuracy. Your grammar is in need of correction. Your statements are obtuse and unburdened with even a modicum of logic.

Hey dogsoul,
I love it when I touch a sensitive nerve.

I also learned very well in these forums that NeoCons are like the Jews. Even if the real ''Jesus'' came to Earth and stands right in front of them, they will still not believe it. The Jewish bible say Mosiac will come but even when Mosiac did come, they claimed it was a big ''liberal'' joke and had Jesus killed.
