Payouts For Medicare Projected To Exceed Collections This Year; Social Security Gets 2017 Threshold
- Drugs? If your only choices in life were competing for the few minimum wage "Mc Jobs" that haven''''t been outsourced to India, with no benefits, earning less than it costs to live in an area, or selling drugs, making enough to afford the better things in life, which would you choose, especially when the elected officials and the other highest positions in society are doing exactly the same, and even worse?

I would be flipping burgers without a doubt. Don''t tell me selling drugs is the way out!! (Well, I guess it is if you have no morals.) - Reply to this comment
- In addition to blaming the government for it''s "Fk" ups...I also blame today''s society that is so afraid of facing death that it tries to keep everyone alive forever.

From your comment, it could be assumed that you don''t live in a major metropolitan area. The "things you hear about today" are all a result of creating a society where you have to earn money to survive, then isolating whole groups of people in areas where there are no job opportunities, so they cannot find honest work to earn money.
The people who say these "things you hear about today" are the very people profiting from stealing the money set aside to address the problems of these economically marginalized people. The money you call handouts is regularly funneled to the cronies of those in office, never making it to the hand that needs it. (Bear Stearns for example...)

"Poor me", please show where you heard that one, I have yet to.
Rock Bottom? Many Americans were born there. You will know when enough people hit rock bottom, the anarchy in the streets will be the biggest hint. - Reply to this comment
gusesel,
Re: "What have the illegals paid for?"
Social Security, for one, which many undocumented workers pay into, (using fake SS numbers) but will never collect from. Come to think of it, most likely neither will I, and I have a valid SS number.
Without them, our Social Security problem would be even worse than it already is.- Reply to this comment
Clarification-
Re: "(welfare for rich American farmers)"
Rich American agri-businesses, I should have said. Not farmers.- Reply to this comment
gusesel,
Re: "What''s with this "pressured?"
Well, for example, NAFTA opened up subsidized corn to be exported to Mexico, (welfare for rich American farmers), driving corn prices down, (also contaminating their corn with genetically modified corn), and leaving them unable to even earn a subsistence living from the farming that had previously sustained them for hundreds of years, and making $5.00 per hour looking like a very generous wage indeed. This resulted in them being pressured into migrating North as one of the few options that they have to feed their families. What would you do if you were in their position? Unlike you, many of them have to leave their families behind in order to work for these meager wages.
Re: "Oh, and public colleges subsidized heavily with tax money? Let me take a look back to my property, income, and other tax statements. Let''s see. Hmmmm. Subsidized colleges. PAID!!"
Many people that also pay these taxes never have the opportunity to go to college. These people helped to subsidize your college education, and you, and your son, benefited from this socialistic welfare program.
Re: "Rich illegal foreigners. UNPAID!"
Rich foreign students pay way, WAY higher tuition than you or your son did, and helped to subsidize your college education.- Reply to this comment
- Hey ranger1948: Ok, if I lose my job, I no longer am entitled to a salary. No work, no pay. Right? So, if congress persons are out of congress, then they aren''t working. No work, no pay. But, they still get paid? No work, but get paid? For life? What for? Who passed this idiotic law. I''m jealous. I want to get paid for not working. Plus I want retirement and free health...for life. Oh, now I get it. That''s why one runs for a congressional post. I know what my next job is going to be. I can BS the people just like they do. Small sacrifice, lifetime benefits. Not bad.

- "Feel":
"plight of immigrants "PRESSURED" to come to the U.S.A?" What''s with this "pressured?" I thought immigrants (illegal rich ones) groveled to come to the USA educational institutions. You know....Iranian and Pakistani children of parents who are involved with precious gems, jewelry, gold, oil, and etc? I didn''t know pressure was involved. Whose been putting the pressure on these poor illegal babies? Oh, and public colleges subsidized heavily with tax money? Let me take a look back to my property, income, and other tax statements. Let''s see. Hmmmm. Subsidized colleges. PAID!! Rich illegal foreigners. UNPAID! Looks like I''ve paid my taxes on time before April 15th over these years. What have the illegals paid for? - Reply to this comment
- Hi Brian. Appreciate your comment. Yup, we worked. Unlike what I hear about today. Drugs, Government handouts, poor me, and well, you know the rest of the story. Once people get to rock bottom, then they''ll pick it up. Guess not enuf people have hit rock bottom yet.

gusesel,
Re: "I not only raised my son on $5.00 an hour at a butt=busting job for 10 years"
Then you should be able to appreciate the plight of immigrants that are pressured to come to the U.S. as a result of "NAFTA. CAFTA. WTO" to do the same.
Re: "WE PAID for our education. We didn''t use welfare."
If you went to a public college, then you attended an institution that is heavily subsidized with tax money, including from people who will never have an opportunity to attend.
In other words, you benefited from a welfare program that subsidizes institutions like this, and which are also subsidized by foreign students that pay way, WAY higher tuitions than you did. You are welcome.

I am not sure what you are asking here.- Reply to this comment
- Is not Social Security for those retired? Or for those children who are fatherless? Has the government retired and now has rights to Soc.Sec? Or, maybe has the gov''t turned into a fatherless child? If so, then go aheaed and use Social Security. But, if not, then you are breaking the law. If someone uses Social Security funding illegally, they are punished legally. Why doesn''t the government get punished since they''re using Soc.Sec. illegaly. Anyone?

Try that nowadays, with a $5.00 per hour job, living in the city. Your chainsaw won''t be good for much. - Reply to this comment

- Hey "Feel!" While you think I''m barely illiterate, I not only raised my son on $5.00 an hour at a butt=busting job for 10 years, we both went to college together. We both earned our degrees with OUR OWN MONEY. WE PAID for our education. We didn''t use welfare. We paid all the taxes encumbered upon us that paid for the the schools, police, road building, and etc. that you so eloquently mentioned! We didn''t buy all the fancy gadgets. We couldn''t afford them anyway. We cut wood to heat our home. I invested in a chainsaw. Tell me, "Feel," what tree did you jump out of that paid your way?

- This isn''t a new problem, it has been developing for years. The only thing needed to fix it is make congress belong to social security like the rest of us instead of giving them their salaries for life. They would fix the problemn with social security and medicare over night.

9/11, 9/11, 9/11, that old set of lies doesn''t work anymore, everyone in the world, except you knows Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11.
We were not attacked by Islam, we were attacked by 17 Saudis, and one Qatari, and one Bahranian, who just so happened to be Muslim, there has been no declaration of war against the us by any credible Islamic leader, only calls to resist with all means necessary, American hegemony, and positing that it is their right to do so, granted by their religion. Bush is the one who declared war, then invading and occupying countries that had nothing whatsoever to do with 9/11.
This is how they get away with it, whip up war fever, counting on people like you to believe any lies they tell, then they pump 12 billion per month into their own pockets, via a country that gave us no reason for war, and you cheer them on, reveling in the spilling of innocent blood, and ignoring the spilling of our treasury assets into the pockets of corrupt politicians.
Then when there is no money left to fulfill the obligations to the American people, you blame "foreigners". Typical. - Reply to this comment

Re: "I am all for that as long as out borders are protected."
So you would be in favor of a socialist program to defend our borders?
Re: "war was declared on the uSA on September 2001"
Really? I don''t recall any declaration of war by anyone. Do you have a reference for this declaration?
Also, what is an "islamofascist"? That term does not seem to make any sense.
Islam is a religion. Wouldn''t a totalitarian group based on religion be described as a theocratic one, rather than fascistic?
Fascistic seems to more accurately describe our own government at the moment, don''t you think? Do you consider us to be "christofascists"?- Reply to this comment
- U.S.A. is slowly and surely turning into a decrepid 3rd world situation. No jobs, low paying jobs, bad economy, illegal foreigners, poor resources, and whatever else. Truly. Take a look at small-town, USA. They''re gone. They''re shanty towns. No flourishing small-town economies anymore. The big USA will soon look just like the devasted small towns that once flourished. Go Global! Give our money, jobs and people to foreigners. NAFTA. CAFTA. WTO. Open those borders and be FREE. Come and go as freely as you want to.

- FeelFree1,
I agree 100%
Both of the Monopoly party presidents have kept us in a state of war to justify that requirement for a very long time.
I am all for that as long as out borders are protected.
Don''t forget that we were attacked and war was declared on the uSA on September 2001. That would justify a standing army right now. The Constitution requires it to be disbanded 2 years after the conflick has ended. I don''t see the islamofacist laying down their weapons anytime soon. - Reply to this comment
