Comments on: New N.Y. Gov., Wife, Each Admit Affairs
David Paterson Says Several Relationships Took Place During Marriage's Rough Patch
- LOL. I guess anymore, you better get those affairs out in the open. Every politician needs to announce during his/her campaign how many little indescretions they have had. Of course, no one cared if Spitzer had an affair, what they cared about was "Mr. Tough on Crime" breaking the law, going to a prostitute, and breaking law in the manner he paid for it. Politics is just endlessly entertaining!

- Boston1954, give them a break. They both made mistakes and worked it out as a family. Sounds very sane and rational. If you want an angel for a leader, go to a planet where there might be one.

- During a rough period in their marriage they both had affairs ... big deal ... makes them human, and I''d rather have honest humans willing to admit their past mistakes on government than people that place themselves on pedestals of perfection while hiding behaviour they publically condemn.

Here we go again.
Lies - 4000 dead soldiers in Irag
Theft - 30 Billion just the other day...
And everything else goin'' on.
And what brings out the judgement and scripture quotin''..... A couple of red blooded human beings gettin'' it on will do it every time...
Character flaws??? Judgementalness and hypocrisy are very near the top of my list...
It''d be funny if it wasn''t so gawd-awful pathetic. - Reply to this comment
- Get rid of him and bring on the next one. Maybe someday we can get somebody who is true to his or her spouse.

- This is a reflection of serious flaws of character and judgment.

Marital problem is a flaw of character? I guess about 50% of the population must be flawed for making a mistake and, according to your logic, will always remain flawed. If this is his only personal issue, then his judgment with making decisions as a governor should be no more flawed than the other humans in office. - Reply to this comment
- At Spitzer''s last State of the State address, he said, Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver stopped him from accidentally breaking a glass with his gavel, then told him, "I will not allow you to turn the State of the State into a Jewish wedding."

- Excuse me, why should this guy remain in office? This is a reflection of serious flaws of character and judgment. Who wants a Governor with serious character and judgment flaws? I hope his remaining in office is not because he happens to be black. The Office of Governor demands the highest character, judgment, morality, and ethics and this guy has flunked all criteria for holding this high office.

- So they had affairs? Most couples do. Personally I don''t care how many affairs an elected offical has as long as they do their job.

- I''m glad they finally got a gov. who''s a swinger. I always thought Bill Clinton could have avoided trouble by saying either that Hillary cheated first, or that they had an open marriage, and it was no biggie. That way he could have continued with the important business of running the government. Remember? They''re there to run the government, not teach us how to run our private se*ual lives. We should not care about theirs.
