Wasn''t the question here "Will Scandal Give Call Girl Her Big Break?" Let''s see - Jessica Hahn, Monica Lewinsky, Jennifer Flowers, etc.. .Why did those names come to mind? Oh yeah - women who will never get known for anything other than who they slept with - no matter how talented they are!

hadenough43 - just what I thought, it''''s always the OTHER guy''''s fault, and you''''re above it.

I just don''''t think that kind of ''''insight'''' is very productive because it shifts the blame . . .

hadenough43, so then which specific women in your life are you referring to when you say that they''re being encouraged to act like *** objects for their father''s approval? Your mom? Your wife? Who?

It would be a little tough for him to treat me that way, I''m not a daughter. It was a completely different dynamic...

Billie Holiday was a prostitute, but I don''''''''t hold it against her.

It just seems different. Take a look at infos Billie Holiday wikipedia.

No sure if appropriate to place the two in the same light. Billie Holiday is admired.

The Youmans who changed her name, living up high in NY, I think for the most part, is not admired.

Comments are encouraged: what do you all think?

Billie Holliday had more passion, suffering, vulnerability in one in one phrase than this guttersnipe in a lifetime. Home Depot has paint...so did Picasso. How many quarts in a mile?

Well, good on you! I ain''t bein'' facetious about that either. I''m just sayin'' that most of the time - if you''re a little girl and you want Daddy''s approval (actually, that''s a need with little girls).. Doing princess is a lot more effective in our culture than reading time magazine...

---"What do those pretty little princess dolls that Daddy''''s give their little girls look like - Nancy Pelosi???"---
Posted by hadenough43

I had Barbies - I LOVED my Barbies . . . my parents bought them for me mostly because I threw roll-on-the-ground fits at Toys R Us until they caved. They also made me read Time magazines and get involved in debating and karate, etc.

You can still be girlie and believe that it''s cool to achieve. Besides, Nancy looks good for her age doesn''t she? I think she''s pretty as well as smart, accomplished, diplomatic, determined, and a wonderful leader and role-model for all of us!
