- The Yugoslavs and Greeks (together more numerous than the Jews) did take up arms and resist the Nazis.
Their efforts were heroic.
Not one historian credits them with having much effect on the outcome of the war by "tying up German divisions."

Is it my fault that no historian has posited events had the Jewish citizens of Europe all been armed and actively resisted the Nazis?
You have any idea about how many German divisions that would have tied up?

What a stupid argument.
That battle was won by air power -- the German tanks were massacred when the skies cleared -- and by Patton showing up with reinforcements.
It is an insult to the memory of the Jews of Germany to say they could have defeated the forces of Nazi Germany by whipping out some shotguns and pistols.

- Most historians do not mention lack of guns as a cause for the holocaust. The few that do have been contradicted by other historians citing the fact that they had guns. Could you see now how pathetic gunownerdan''''s claim is?

- One thing gunownerdan NEVER points out, is how badly the German Jews were outnumbered at the time.
Guns as self defense would have been less effective for them, than they were at the Little Bighorn or Waco, Texas.

- The Holocaust analogy is the worst one gunownerdan could have used.
If the Weimar Republic had kept guns out of the Nazis hands, the Holocaust would not have happened.
If later the Jews in Germany had whipped out guns and opened fire on the Nazis, it would have played right into Nazi propaganda.
The Holocaust would have been accelerated (the Jews were badly outnumbered by the well armed Nazis) and only a fraction of the Jews would have escaped, who actually did escape. - Reply to this comment
