you are the supreme twister of ones words, you take a number of words from a paragraph and paste them to make a new sentence and then twist the meaning of even that fntasy. You are a moron. Get some facts, then get an education, then grow up, then crawl back under your rock and stay there.

I suspect her face was unidentifiable.

That may very well be,, I know news articles leave some info out of the story, and this may be the case here. So a pic. wouldn''t have helped.

slim,

Initial reports of the story said the body had 5 gunshot wounds to the head. They have, as of late yesterday, amended that to read ''several gunshot wounds, including at least one to the head.'' I suspect her face was unidentifiable.

Chapel Hill Police Chief Brian Currin told WRAL that the department''s investigation into the crime was still in its very early stages. "A lot of it, up to this point, was just trying to figure out who the victim was," he said.

Chapel Hill Police have egg on their face now. A high profile student, which was well known on campus, and around town, and it took police a day and a half, just to find out who it was. Being of college age, and the body was found not very far from UNC, they should have snapped a pic. and taken it to UNC. could have I.D''d the body in a matter of an hour.

No, of course people do not carry their wallets in plain sight. But again--it would be LOGICAL to assume that most people do indeed carry wallets as they have driver''s licenses, money, credit cards, etc. It is NOT logical to assume that most people--as many people as are carrying wallets--are carrying guns. And, as has been posted twice already--only 0.03% of NC''s population (per luvny''s own post--260,000 divided by 9,000,000), and 0.03% hardly qualifies as being any where near the percentage of people who would carry wallets. So, if he based in on the number of applications, his mathematical skills are sorely lacking as well. This isn''t that hard to understand. And now, I understand why people have posted the way they have on this board. I am only sorry I have gotten drawn into the insanity instead of focusing on what we are commenting on. I don''t intend to let it happen again. I now understand why a newbie, like me, (despite luvny''s claim that I "ALWAYS" do this--LOL!, are warned to stay away from certain people and their posts. Good advice I should have taken and will in the future.

[When criminologists say reducing the prevalence of guns will reduce homicides and suicides that''''s NOT designed to punish or blame gun owners. That''''s like NOT conserving energy because corporations waste more energy than you do. Your claims are pathetic!~ ]

would this be an analogy ... like you''re comparing guns and energy? isn''t a comparison of this nature the same thing you use to label others ''pathetic''?

why ... i think it is!

Bureau of Justice Statistics (http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/glance/firearmnonfatalno.htm)

%u201CNonfatal firearm-related crime has plummeted since 1993, before increasing in 2005.%u201D

Source: National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS). Ongoing since 1972 with a redesign in 1993, this survey of households interviews about 134,000 persons age 12 and older in 77,200 households twice each year about their victimizations from crime.

Hmmm. So there was a REDESIGN of the survey done in 1993. I wonder who was running the Justice Department in 1993?

Is luvny incapable of defending his initial hyperbole on his own?

I am sure he is completely capable, I just like to help when I can.
He said "in some areas of NC, people carry guns like they carry wallets.''''

So, you are saying people in NC carry their wallets in their hands? I didn''t notice this behaviour when I was last in NC.

Now, NC does not allow IN PLAIN SIGHT carrying of guns, so unless luvny has Superman xray vision, how could he possibly make a statement about how many people are carrying CONCEALED guns?
Perhaps he did a computer search for the number of applications filed vs. the number of permits issued? Just a hunch.
Thus the comment that in NC carrying guns is illegal.
Not if you have a permit and carry concealed. Such a broad, all-encompassing statementr without clarification just clouds the issue.
I will apologize if luvny has xray vision and can see all these CONCEALED weapons.
I''m sure he would expect nothing less.
Otherwise, as logic would demand that he would have to be able to be able to SEE these weapons to KNOW that people carry them around like wallets (hyperbole), I stand by my statement that in NC it is illegal to carry guns (IN PLAIN SIGHT).
SEE! There is the clarification! It was not included in the earlier post; if it was and I overlooked it I apologize to you.
