Regarding the issue of guns. People kill, whether it be with guns or something else. Las Vegas has a great policy. When you move there you are required to bring in any handgun you own to the police department and register it. They do a balistics test at the same time on the weapon. Law abiding citizens do not mind having to comply with these type of requirements. England also has a gun law. If you rob a bank and get caught yopu get 10 years sentence, if you use a gun to rob the bank and get caught you get a 30 year sentence. Make the punishment fit the crime. Require thorough background checks of anyone purchasing a firearm, even if buying from an individual.

I agree with sbbm. EyeSupremecy...you need to cut the ***. If it''s not this, it''s something else. All your "comments" are fueling the racist fire. It doesn''t matter whether someone is black or white, the point is a life was tragically taken in the quiet unassuming town of Auburn...where I happen to go to school.

EyeSupremacy: "apparently there are NO lost/murdered minority girls or males EVER. Because I sure as HE11 never see any NATIONAL stories about them......All you see is blondies and other white girls like the "Sarah Michelle Gellar" clone this story is about..."

Clearly you aren''t up to date with your NATIONAL news. Right underneath the link for this article is a link referring to the "Memphis Massacre." That massacre included NINE African American individuals. So your point it not valid. And had you only read that article you probably would have questioned why African Amreicans are the only one targeted.

Get your stuff together before you go targeting sensitive articles like these. People have emotions and are reading this article in order to figure out why this innocent individual was murdered. The last thing that they want to read are your invalid comments about race/minorities. You know it''s not a sin to be sensitive regardless of race. Take your opinions elsewhere and get over your "race complex."

they are also citizens ... and the defense of a constitutional right is exactly what they should be doing.

Blaming guns will never solve a single thing.
All it does is place the responsibility on an inanimate object rather than the criminal who uses it illegally.
I don''t know why some people don''t respect their own lives or the lives of others but blaming guns is just not going to solve the problem.
In a dangerous world good people need to be able to choose whether or not they want to defend themselves and having a gun and knowing how to use it properly and safely can be very helpful.

With the tons of drugs and millions of illegals that cross the border every year how can anyone think that banning guns would do anything but disarm the law abiding citizen while creating a new market for the criminals?

I don''t like the gun issue, but it is an issue.
I''m not aware of the gun numbers, but I have to say that a lot of these are probably unlicensed guns. I haven''t heard that they traced shell casings back to a gun since every other episode of law and order.
Sometimes yes, but anyone who is crazy enough to murder someone with a registered gun, it well ... crazy or has a death wish.

geecee827,

Thank you. I think you see the same issue that I do.

Aren''''t you the least bit concerned about this blatant disregard for human life in this country of gun-loving psychopaths??
