Isn''t it nice when the pseudo-intellectual just happens by pure coincidence to be dead on right? I love it when that happens! LOL! - Reply to this comment

Well done! Now we are getting somewhere! As you so eloquently pointed out, suffering is suffering, whether human fetus or cow, so the next step in the analysis is whether there is ever a compelling reason not to prohibit it. I can think of some times when we would not want to prohibit it, can you? One of those times would be when there really is no suffering to prohibit, such as during the first trimester. No reason to prohibit it then.

Can you be completely sure that there is no pain in the first trimester? I havn''t googled it, but there may be intelligent, scientific evidence that there is. So, if that were the case, would you choose to believe the group of scientists that produced evidence that there can be suffering in first trimester abortions? - Reply to this comment

Okay, okay, I''ll agree with you on the above, but that''s all! :-) - Reply to this comment

"Suffering is suffering. When you have an abortion, you contribute to the needless killing of innocent babies.

So what? the fetus tissue never experienced life or anything, it''s nervous system undeveloped, the puppy was fully mentally and all else developed except size and maturity.
Abortion is good, it helps fix the little mistakes that occur from un protected sexx, why force someone to have a baby they dont want, who would be resented and get substandard care when we already have WAY too many people as it is. We dont need more people on this planet.- Reply to this comment

vox, I applaud your coherent and persuasive explanation, but I think you are forgetting that conservatives typically do not understand facts, evidence and reason. Those things cloud their world view, so they simply reject rationality outright. Now, if you tell them to "just believe," you might get somewhere; that, they seem to understand.

Thank goodness. Or should I say thank God. I thought it would take you forever to have me all figured out. Whew..now that that''s over, we can finally get back to reality. I''m simple minded and cannot possible have anything meaningful to contribute...while you, on the other hand have the world by the tail. Thanks for my "edjecation", and keep up the good work on the total intolerance for anyones''s opinion except your own. I may not agree with you, but at least I respect your right to disagree. Hmmmm....seems like a pretty forward thinking attitude, huh? OMG, I''m doing it again...thinking that people can go back and forth on a topic and not discount the opinions of others. When, oh, when will I learn. Now pass the dam twizzlers. - Reply to this comment

Conservatives see only what they want to see. I would not call vox''s well-articulated explanation of the facts, baseless conjecture. But again, conservatives see only what they want to see, so I''m not surprised that you would. - Reply to this comment

- Suffering is suffering. When you buy hamburger, you contribute to the needeless suffering of animals. It''''s a fact; let''''s just call it an inconvenient truth that you choose to ignore because you''''d much rather get up on your soap box and judge others for having an abortion. Meanwhile, when it comes to your own guilty little pleasures, you want to be left alone, so you can devour that big juicy hamburger! It''''s okay, it''''s human nature to be selfish and, at the same time, judgmental. I do it all the time.

- I hope it was a prank for the puppy''s sake. I LOVE my Border Collies and enjoy them around everyday. Not much gets past them concerning things security. They even give the kittens lick baths and gently nip around on them checking for fleas. They''re my buddies!

- I''ll share the Twizzlers, but not the cherry bites. And for Candide, it''s easy to tell the baby from the burger. The baby wiggles when you put the ketchup on. And quit calling it a "big juicy" burger. All I''ve had so far are the fried ovum of three unborn chickens with some cheese. (Mrs.C is really a Mr. B.) Is it still OK to eat oatmeal?
