- Hay Hotpaulie,
1st time I read that farmers pays fees. I thought they pass on these ''operating costs'' to the consumers. Last year 2007, American''s pharmaceutical companies spent $85 billions in drug commericals. Guess who pays for it in higher drug prices? Forget about the fact that there are many natural (herb) cheap remedies without the fatal side-effects for most of the major illnesses. - Reply to this comment
- God gave meat to man to shorten the days of his life.

- Folks,
Does anyone have any idea how cows, chickens, turkeys and fish are killed in full compliant with USDA regulations? I never knew there was a human method to kill. Sorry but I once visited these slaughter houses with my dad who was looking for a job when I was a kid. - Reply to this comment
- Actually beef and dairy farmers pay a small fee everytime they sell cows for slaughter and that money is used specifically for advertising.

- The people from the meat packing plant should all go to jail until their plate is clean. On the menu at the jail...143 million pounds of meat. If it is still safe to eat, let them eat it - ALL

- Folks,
Soon, the meat farmers will swap the mass media (your tv) with ''Meat is Good'' commercials after all this negative PR cools down. Guess who will be paying for the commercials in higher meat prices? Viva Capitalism! - Reply to this comment
- hahhaha, what moral? we are humans! a moral human being should find that him or herself is obviously contributing to problems one way or another and will therefore gladly seize to exist for the good of whatever. we can''t safe the world, everything we do differently we are just destroying the planet in a different way, be realistic! even if we ALL stop eating meat, someone somewhere is going to make yet another profiting polluting factory selling chemically produced "vegan" food until they are shut down; nothing is going to change, ever, its human nature. racism, poverty, pollution, it''s been forever, and saying "let''s try" is just going to produce more problem and provoke more hate among the super stubborn, so just leave it all alone.

- Folks,
Capitalism is not suppose to have a heart when profit rules. - Reply to this comment
I''ve seen other videos the same exact kinds of practices. I''m glad that Americans are learning a little about where their food is coming from. Don''t expect the government to enforce safety standards unless incidents like this go public and embarrass them. Our government works in the interest of corporations not people.- Reply to this comment
- The very least that animals deserve during their lives, is to be treated humanely. I cannot understand how a person can abuse animals so, and I wish those people would tell me how they justify such behaviour. The problem is that I doubt they can read, much less talk in sentences.

- I love watching the banking industry eat a ***. hope the agricultural industry does as well. both the banking and agricultural industries get WAY to many federal kickbacks. let the cards fall where they may. trusting corporations is like trusting the local date rapist.

- If I had kids in school, I''d be inclined to start packing their lunches. We quit buying beef and pork at the grocery store years ago. Get together with your friends and neighbors and deal directly with your area farmers or meat wholesalers. You''ll save a ton of money when you buy a whole or half beef or hog. Contact your County Extension Agent for info on local meat producers. If you are lucky enough to live close to an Amish or Mennonite community, you should definitely check them out. Their cattle and hogs are usually hand-raised without lots of hormones, antibiotics and other expensive additives. In my experience, dealing directly with area farmers is always a great experience, and I like the idea that I am not supporting Hormel, Con-Agra, or any other global conglomerate. We all win when we support our neighbors.

- If politicians like Bush are going to continue to gut and cripple federal regulatory agencies, like the FDA, or staff them with Industry insiders, then we''re going to see a lot more of this sort of thing in the future.
Hats off to the Humane Society, and their efforts to call our attention to these issues! - Reply to this comment
- HEY! That''s Cows from Bush''s Ranch - leave them alone - they want to be slaughtered!
Just like most Democrats - because of they''re democratic non-leaders! - Reply to this comment
- What an absolute sin and what a horrible lack of moral fiber this whole incident reveals. If my eyes weren''t wide open, I might be shocked. Civilization, as we know it, is not very civil, at all.
