After their success with Israel, I don''''t blame them

The Brits left the middle east in a pickle, 100 yrs or so ago. But none worse as they found it though either.

I bet ya that Bush Jr has a long history of not listening to his Father. Many if not all of the members of Bush Sr''s cabinet are in Bush Jr''s cabinet now. I mean the ones that haven''t resigned that is. They may have realized that finally, a Bush that just does what we tell him to do.

Any guesses?

Posted by taotxzen at 06:56 PM : Feb 19, 2008

From future generations. Incidently,,,thats how we defeated the Russians (during the cold war),,,when they could not keep pace with our military spending,,,when they were at war,,and we were not.

Now the shoe is on the other foot,, as it were.

Heck, the country will probably break up into three pieces anyway, it''''s a wonder anyone, the British, tried to put them to together, with their history, in the first place.

Posted by AJMarine1 at 06:50 PM : Feb 19, 2008

I agree,,,but thats one reason the Brits stay out of "Nation" building to this day.

There''s no future in it.

Many have said it and I will repeat it once again, the "Biggest Military Blunder in US History".

Posted by skyk at 06:50 PM : Feb 19, 2008

I agree,,,,But the one thing I would like to know is,, why the h3ll did the old man(Bush SR) let the kid go into Iraq,,in the 1st place??? He''s as much fault for this blunder as his kid!

I guess there is just know way to list the $670 Billion that we spend annually on the military. Just look at it this way, that is more than what everybody else spends combined. And McCain/Bush want more. They are willing to sacrafice the economy, health care, the enviornment, education, your social sucurity, everything to keep pumping money to the big defense contractors. And do we have $670 Billion to spend? No. So where does it come from?
Any guesses?

I think it will cause a huge vacum,,that Iran, will surely fill! I don''''t think any of us would want that, do you?

If you think gas prices are high now, just wait for Iran to start dictating (prices) to us.

Well THAT was the reason Bush 1 didn''t go into Iraq if you remember. It was pointed out to the Incompetent LOSER we have now as well. No matter how long we stay now it''s just a matter of time. All they have to do is sit and wait. The guy who has the real power, they young Muslim Leader, hates us and is a big time ally of Iran. The ONLY option we have is to just stay and stay, thus draining us completely. Many have said it and I will repeat it once again, the "Biggest Military Blunder in US History".

I think it will be the natural order of things if we don''t keep a presence there.

Who''''s a person suppose to vote for.

That is the billion dollar question isn''t it. I think with Hillary or McCain we will have the same old politics as usual.

But with Obama...I to need to educate myself more on his policies as well. I dig his "message of hope." We could all use a little more hope these days.

The thought of President McCain just makes me shiver.

Posted by dscott407 at 06:19 PM : Feb 19, 2008

To tell you the truth, they all make me shiver.

Obama is a rock star, but I don''t know all his polices.

I don''t think I could stand Bill wondering around the White House with nothing to do, and I''m not worried about his fooling around, I just can see him whispering in Hillary''s ear all the time.

McCain seems to old and more of the same.

Who''s a person suppose to vote for.

It will be a hard decision to pick a President from what we are being offered to vote for.

Posted by AJMarine1 at 05:56 PM : Feb 19, 2008

I definitely agree with that statement. We aren''t picking from "the best available" -- that''s for sure.

Maybe,,,, but the U.S. is not ready for a President named Obama. Sounds to much like Osama,,as in Bin Laden.

But it took 6 mths, to a year to get set-up in Iraq, it will take that much time to leave. If not longer!

Posted by slim1h2o

You make a good point slim, but I think that Obama wining, what is it 7, 8 primaries in a row is a very encouraging sign. I think that America is ready. I''m ready.
