"Bush Signs $168B Economic Stimulus Bill"

"Tribune Co. Announces Hundreds Of Job Cuts"

Anyone else other than me see these two taglines on
the same page and think "Bush is just putting a band aid on a gaping machete gash?"

Bush signed this because he thought it was an OIL stimulus package - he sure will be disappointed if it ACCIDENTALLY helps the Middle class.....

Hey Hoagie,
What kind of dumb *** are you???? Wait, I get it, let our politicians pass any law they want and say it is for our safety, our well being, our security, our way of life. In the mean time they are taking away our freedom. ***. I am in my 50''s and I have seen my freedom reduced. Our government is continually passing laws that take more and more of our rights and free will away. If you don''t believe me, look and see what your congressman or senator is doing.s

Posted by hoygie3 at 09:41 PM : Feb 13, 2008-----Heh heh, Reminds me of my Paramedic friend who told me he had went on a call to fix up a guy with a gunshot wound in the leg. Can''t remember if the other guy got more than striped. Turns out it was two gang members that got into it and littered the ground all around them with shell casings,.....scored one and a half hits at 20 yards. I asked him if they needed the spent powder flushed out of their eyes too :)

Hey Vet;
Maybe you should look at some of the bills passed through congress. But when you do, look at all the add ons YOUR congressman or senator attached.

***FEEDBACK FOR THE GOVERNMENT*** I know where I stand according to the income stats above. Since the rebate was intended to spur economic spending, that is exactly what I did with it a couple of months early. Went out a bought a freakingly big STIHL chainsaw that I know will come in handy for cleaning up dead trees that most folks either do not have the tools to tackle and or the skill. There are good and plenty storm damaged and disease riddled trees that need taken care of. I love a well managed mid-western woods. Kinda like a Sherwood Forest tree garden......I''M sure that STIHL and for me for sure thank you very much. I''ll make the best use of the gift.

OUTLAW PORK IN ANY BILL THE GOVERNMENT WANTS TO PASS.
JUST IN THAT IS 20 TIMES WHAT THE WAR IN IRAQ HAS COST.

YOU think we have spent over a TRILLION Dollars in the last 7 years on PORK? Then YOU should be the last person on the planet to vote Republican in the next election...THEY spent it!! Sieg Heil Bush

Here is another thing! When our politicians pass bills, they put what you call pork in it. Why do we allow this????? I live in Illinois, yet my tax dollars are paying for a bridge in Montana. What they call pork should be outlawed. If that state can''''t pay for it, why should the rest of us? Especially those of us that will never use it?????

No we need to elect a leader who has the courage and intelligence to say to Congress, "You want a Tax Cut for your pals, you want a bridge for your state, show me how to pay for it in the budget". It''s easy for Politician''s to SAY they will cut taxes... it''s easy to say they will cut spending.. it''s easy to tell us they will balance the budget. The problem with the Fascist is they have NEVER NOT ONCE actually done that. No Fascist President has ever, not once, taken a Balanced Budget to Congress. Congress will spend the money in a political way...someone must force them to PAY for that spending. Sieg Heil Bush.

I''''ve never understood this liberal fixation with the rich. As though they''''ve committed a crime to get their money. Not everybody is dishonest, ya know.

When people take the benefits and blessings of this great nation, accept the fact that WORKING PEOPLE in this nation SAVED it and the entire world from Hitler, then ship their jobs to some Third World Dictatorship for NOTHING but Greed, they are truly the most dishonest creatures on this planet. I have no respect for our will I do anything to defend these sleazy jerks from anyone at anytime. Sieg Heil Bush

The Government is not supposed to take care of you. You''''re supposed to take care of yourself. A government that takes care of people is a tyrannical one. It can''''t help itself but to be.

How would you define the statement, "Promote the General Welfare" then? Of COURSE it''s the function of the Government in this Nation to look out for the PEOPLE. Why? Because WE the PEOPLE ARE the Government.... something fascist have NEVER been able to figure out. Sieg Heil Bush
