Quadriplegia, also known as tetraplegia, is a symptom in which a human experiences paralysis affecting all four limbs.

I''m sure if your legs are in the shape of a walking person, it''s obvious you''ve been walking.

"That none of the supervisors acted upon what they saw is of great concern," Docobo said. "This is not the norm at the sheriff''s office."

He said the officers'' actions were an aberration
*********************************************

I doubt that very seriously. I saw the video and no one seemed to concerned when that guy just dumped this guy on the floor. In fact, the woman officer grinned and started pawing around on him on the floor. The officer that did it should be criminally charged, not just dismissed. Anyone that was in the room at the time should be dismissed. Of course, had thre not been a video, then they would have just lied.

Fire the cops. It''s not just a matter of abuse. If they cannot see that a person in a wheelchair probably can''t stand up, then they''re stupid. And stupid people should not be cops.

I like how no one is saying anything about the fact that she is black and he is white. Cause I know D@mn good and well that if it were a white cop dumping a black person out of their wheelchair that flordia would be flooded with civil rights groups screaming about how racism is alive and well in Hillsborough.

The Florida Police culture is rampant with poor education and abusive behavior. There is too much public tolerance over this problem. Some states in the south, such as Texas, and others have increased the education requirements for police officers and obtained results that are a marked improvement.

It will take many news media events like this to change the behavior of police culture south Florida cities.

There is a problem with the corporate conscience of police officers. In many minds, they only beleive the dumb officers get caught committing unacceptable behavior and civil rights violations.

The reason police officers behave this way is because they''re way overworked, and the main reason they''re way overworked is the freaking war on drugs.
Legalize drugs and give the police a break from chasing every pothead around for no good reason.

Yeah, I noted that the man did move his leg AFTER the officer moved his chair. I don''t know how many ignorance is out there but you can restore some mobility to arms and legs to quadraplegics. I have ran into sensitive police officers such as these in Odessa, texass. I have a service dog and because I would not relingquish my dog to an untrained animal control person to be taken away, I had the pleasure of four of Odessa''s finest sherrif''s dept. point four tazers at me and my k9 companion. I repeatedly told them that he was a service dog, had his tags, all information, and was told that in here, at Odessa Regional Hospital, there was NO ADA and Lt. White, now Patrolman White was god. For trying to explain what my canine was for, I got my head slammed up against the wall three times by a Barney Fife type. I was there because I was a passenger in a car involved in an accident and could still walk but only with the help of my dog. The next day, the director of the hospital informed me that the nurse that called the police had been fired and that all personel in management positions were to be trained on ADA and service animals. The sherrifs dept continued to harrass me until I moved out of texass. texass, stupidity the religion, ignorance the way of life, sorry for offending any one who feels differently but that is MY opinion and I am sticking to it until the day I die.

I have often vacationed in Tampa.
I will never again.
I will not fly into or through Tampa International Airport.
I will not eat in Tampa.
I will not purchase gasoline in Tampa.
I will not purchase a pack of chewing gum in Tampa.
I will urge everybody I know to do the same.
===================
This incident should not have happened.
Since it did happen, the attacker should be charged immediately with a criminal offence and those who witnessed the attack and did not report it should be dismissed.

Reminds of the scene from The Pianist when the Nazis ordered everyone at a table to stand up, and when all did but the wheelchair fellow, they tossed him and his chair out the window.
