I guarantee you right now, if we examined the population of a maximum security prison, we would not find very many good credit histories.

Of course,,they''re all in prison,, and late on their payments.

Sorry Iceman I don''t agree with the credit history portion of your laws. And as someone pointed out, the other laws that you mentioned are in fact in place!

But those Laws won''t stop the criminal!

60 million gun legal gun owning citizens in the US Correct. 300 million legalally manufactured firearms in the US correct. Every gun owner actually owning 5 each? Incorrect. The national Average is 1.5
Where are the rest of the guns? Who knows. There are about a million tied up in inventory. The sales usally go up as the anti gun retoric gets racheted up in our country. Gun sales reached an all time high between 1992 and 2001.

hillaryin08

210 million guns unaccounted for!!! That makes me feel so much better.

Most of the "unaccounted for" firearms are owned. These were manufatured between 1700 and 1960. The Government has only been tracking Imports and Domestic Sales and Inventory of private firearms since the 1970''s. Example, there are 6 million semi auto military surplus M-1 Garands currently in circulation.

BECAUSE YOU YOURSELF

"hillaryin08, if you like the credit history test, it is probably because you yourself have a lousy credit rating."

hillaryin08, if you like the credit history test, it is probably have a lousy credit rating.

So propose your own measure for controlling access to guns.

Or can"t you think of one...

Most gun crime in Boston is not from NH guns! Show me the proof for that one.

And as for stricter gun laws proposed by Iceman_1960... what about Joe average who passes, but then goes crazy a few years later because his wife was cheating on him, he could not park his truck in the driveway, or he got an unfair grade at school... etc. We read about those guys way too often - and they do not care to much about the penalty since they are pretty suicidal at that point anyway.

schoollord wants to label all gun owners "enemy combatants" and of they do not go to the prison camps peacefully she will use her tank to blow them up.
I bet that''s all she thinks about.

Shame on us. That small number buys and scares the members of Congress into supporting their deadly agenda. They see all these shootings happening so often and they blame them on criminals even though the killer are gun owners!~

It''s not the NRA that stops law makers or lobbyist groups, it is the realization that short of turning America into a potential battle ground and initiating Police state rule--it would be virtually impossible to stop or even stem the flow of weaponry or usage in America at this time.

The idea, that those who choose to kill only do so by the convenience of buying a gun is ludicrous--guns can be bought at more places than a gun store--and the government has not the means, intelligence network or man power to pursue each venue. If a person wants a gun, there are dozens of ways to get them and never get a background check.

"So you have some facts that someone who has bad credit is more likely to commit a crime do ya? I''''m not buying it."

If you did, you"d be late with your payments.

People with bad credit histories, as a group, are the impulsive people, the irresponsible people who don"t consider the consequences of their actions.

Ask any psychologist about that.

I guarantee you right now, if we examined the population of a maximum security prison, we would not find very many good credit histories.

"Some legal experts said the government, theoretically, could impose a total ban on individuals possessing guns even if they have a Second Amendment right to possess them.

That is because a host of state and federal laws barring assault and other types of weapons are routinely upheld in the courts on grounds that the prohibitions are rational governmental approaches to combat violence.

"It''''s conceivable that the federal government can pass a law you can''''t own a gun," said Chuck Michel, an NRA attorney. He said the government could do so and, perhaps, defeat court challenges on grounds that the government "had a compelling interest to ban guns."

"Some court at some point could say, ''''federal government, you are right,''''" Michel said.

Perhaps iceman doesn''t consider an M-1 tank a weapon of terror when it''s opposing people with rifles or that the Shock and Awe attack with cruise missles flying in out of nowhere is not terror attack. Very few neo conservatives seem to have reasoning power that goes beyond the nose on their greedy faces. And now trillions of US tax dollars have been thrown down a hole to make the oil companies richer and install an Islamic fundamentalist regime in Iraq. Great job. You''ve done nothing to reduce the threat of terror attacks in the US with this absurd strategy.

However the story about this f-head who shot a bunch of people because he was a stupid f-head has lttle to do with Iraq and everything to do with the ever increasing number of f-heads, thugs and crimminally retarded people in this country who own an use guns to kill innocent people.

If we ever lose electric power and gasoline for more than a few days I think you can say Mad Max is a prophetic film.
