Man Who Injured Wife In Ohio Elementary School Found Dead In Home, Police Say
- ki8911 ,
You''ve proved you are an IDIOT based on your posting on this forum! How the hell can you relate a shooting in Ohio with the arrest of an American woman in Saudi Arabia! One was the act of a crazed husband, the other an official act by a goverment! Sorry, ki8911 , but you are almost as nuts as that poor school teachers husband! - Reply to this comment

- Dear got5agrip,
I am quite clear that the US government does not sanction such deeds. My point is that there is still an attitude in this country towards women, regardless of government, that is the same as the Saudi theocracy. Islam, Christianity and Judaism are patriarchal "religions" that regard women as property, as sub-human. Granted, there has been a lot of progress for women & children. But that veneer can be stripped away in a instant. Show me a religion that honors women as equal persons, that the prevailing teaching is that do not have to be property or subordinate to men. There are folks on the relgious right who would like nothing better for this country to become a christian theocracy just like Saudi Arabia is an islamic theocracy. - Reply to this comment

- Read an interesting article on "hegemonic masculinity" which explains a lot about what has been happening to women, children, and innocents over decades.
If you research statistics on violence against women and children you''ll find a correlation between the escalation of violence and the women''s movement.
Women''s rights, e.g. jobs, reproduction freedom, self-governance, etc. correlates with the increase fatalities against women and children.
And now a woman running for presidency , that doesn''t sit too well with "hegemonic patriarchs".
The more power these "hegemonic patriarchs" lose, the more episodes of violence against women and children. - Reply to this comment
- ki8911, you are clearly confused. The Saudi foolishness was GOVERNMENT SPONSORED AND APPROVED. As far as I know, the US government does not approve of shooting your wife. Are you clear on the difference now?

- I just finished reading about the Saudi Religious police arresting a US business women being at the wrong place at the wrong time. She was lucky, she was just jailed then released. Commenters screamed about how rotten the Saudis are & their religion. Yet again, here is the "Christian" nation of USA, another man with a gun, the husband, goes into his wife''s classroom, full of children and shots her in front of them. Americans are arrogant to judge another country''s treatment of women, but yet look at our own country, where it''s seems okay to men (not all men, I''ll qualify that)that to shot, kill, maim, beat up, abuse, wives and girlfriends, mothers and daughters, that so-called Middle Eastern mentality is alive and disturbingly well in this country. Women and children are not property, to be disposed of when inconvenient to the man. Killing your ex-wife does not solve the problem. Until patriarchal religions are disposed of and replaced with rational humanism, this will continue.
