mcv57,
I now believe in the comment, bad attention is better than no attention at all. I will let you know this, just because I am from a southern state, does not mean I am a racist. I refuse to play the racist card in this forum and you should leave here if you have nothing better to say. I don''t wish harm to you or your family, but be careful, God does not like ugly.

First, it was the ****** house of New Orleans . . . the white honkies can sing the old Wizard of Oz song "The Wicked Witch is Dead" while their houses and cars take flight ... wicked witch, wicked witch is dead.

Geodesic domes are on the right track, but from what I''ve learned, Monolithic Dome is the best for tornadoes and various other disasters. Also check out Insulating Concrete Forms, esp. Amvic with its AmDeck floor and roof option. FEMA 320 is a must-read (your tax dollars at work!) for the whole "safe room" topic and maps.

FeelFree1.. down in Fl. they were the omy thing standing after a terrible hurricane, I''m sure you remember Buckminister Fuller the creater of the dome. They were concidered as an outpost on other planets by NASSA. Like crushing an egg they get stronger when more pressure is applied. I''ve never understood why they never took off. The old hippies took advantage and that ruined it for the maistream, But yes they can survive and are fairly inexpensive to build so a double win....

thank you for your kind words Michelle. I will break the rules here and tell you I am from Arkansas and here at home we already have millions of items, food, water, toothpaste, batteries, flashlights, chainsaws, etc. going up to north arkansas and a couple of our southern counties. We do pitch in and help our fellow Arkansans in times of turmoil and every state should do this no matter what. We aren''t perfect here, we still have fights in school and other problems that most cities have to combat every day, but we do take good care of each other in times of need. We don''t really wait for the governor or the president. Sometimes that is a long wait and these folks can''t wait. Fundraiser ''08 is going on now for donations in Arkansas. Thanks to the ones who are helping, you are true angels.
