- Once my father explained the "New Deal" to me in this way. When the average guy has no money he can not buy the goods and services produced by the other average guy, who then has no money. When you give one of these people, who have no money, a dollar they will spend that dollar on goods and services. Thus the next average guy will have to produce MORE goods and services meaning he now has money. In the end that dollar will result in the American People gaining a dollar and a quarter. When you create a tax code that forces the wealthy to put their money back into America or lose it, this is what happens. Maybe it''s time we got back to what works folks??

- There was ONCE a nation that cared about their own. There was ONCE a nation that had laws, regulations and policies that allowed the working stiff to get a fair slice of the pie. Then along came some VERY wealthy people with an idea!! Let''s give all that Pie to the guys on top. They will use that pie to invest in the Country to make MORE pie then the working stiff will get a bigger piece. AMERICAN''s bought the Snake Oil. Then the SAME wealthy few came along and said there are some who take to much of the pie. They are not allowing the proper amount to be funneled to the top! We want to take them down, bust their Unions and give those jobs to Third World workers who will do it for pennies on the dollar. This will give the Wealthy even MORE money to invest. Are all of you starting to see the INSANITY of this "Supply Side" fairy tale? THERE were no investments in THIS nation, it all went to those THIRD World Countrys so MORE jobs could be moved there. Now our banks are going to those same THIRD WORLD Countrys, hat in hand, to get enough money to stay afloat. All the while our standard of living is STRUGGLING to stay out of THIRD WORLD status. I''d say it''s safe to say NOW that "Trickle Down" DOES NOT WORK!!

- The Iraq occupation costs 275 million dollars per day. Source - Congressional Research Service.
Less than 1 percent is for Veterans services.

Are you upset that your dollars value is plummeting?
Are you disappointed that we cannot fund infrastructure improvements?
Are you worried that Americas creditor nations, China Saudi Arabia and the UAE, could be a very real threat to American security?

- Ladies and Gentlemen, here is the one and only reason why Repukes and rightwing fascists are always looking for enemies not only around the world but also at home: So they can spend most of our money on "security" and military bases and wars and invasions for the sole and only purpose of taking money away from government programs.
Their main concern is not US security but rather the creation of a rightwing utopia where government''s sole purpose is to get into wars and make sure the richer people in our country stay the richest.
And to hell with everyone else. It''s as simple as that.
It''s called Lazes Faire. Look it up. It''s an ideology about 100 years old and rightwing fascists are as much in love with it as an AlQaeda idiot is with Wahabism. Which, coincidently, was born about the same time as Lazes Faire. - Reply to this comment
- Many physicians will no longer take Medi-whatever you''ve got, because the govt. doesn''t pay them enough to even keep the flippin lights on! I was dumped by a local doc because he would get $40 or $50 every few months for my care when it cost him almost $100 to even see a patient...nursing, paperwork, staff, and the old malpractice insurance ball and chain.
We need to quit complaining and get with the rest of the Western world and institute health care for all...sans the greedy insurance companies. BTW: what as any insurance company ever done to get you better care? - Reply to this comment
- hummm, tax cuts benefiting the upper "classes",
