Comments on: Possible Sighting Of Marine Murder Suspect
Police Say He Was On Greyhound In Louisiana; $25,000 Reward Offered For Information
- I agree that we are, in the eyes of the judicial system, presumed innocent until proven guilty.
My question is the obvious. Why hide the body and go on the lamb if you had nothing to do with the death?
It''s hard not to pass judgement in this case. - Reply to this comment
- Males murdering females that they are romantically involved with, is the most frequent situation in which females are victims of homicide.
So it is silly to ask, what motive would he have to kill her ?
The male-female romantic relationship is volatile, especially when liquor gets involved.
But young females killing themselves by cutting their own throats -- in America that never happens. - Reply to this comment
- Why would he murder her? What was his motive?

Here we go again!

I said 2 or 3 days ago, that she was dead, and you said that she was holed up in a motel Ga.

Being lectured on gender bias by you, is like getting dietary advice from Jeffrey Dahmer.
I"m a male by the way.

- He''''s guilty as h*ell.
His own actions will convict him.
If Internet Gambling were legal, I"d lay $10,000 on that.

Exactly,,, Tucker; give it up. Go to bed, and have Grand Prairie dreams. You are just wrong! - Reply to this comment
- The Robert Blake case is a better analogy than OJ Simpson, since the race card aspect is missing from it.
But there was less evidence against Blake.
Laurean is going down.
And that"s the name of that tune.
He shouldn"t have done the crime if he couldn"t do the time, and had to flee to Mexico. - Reply to this comment
- I don"t know why we"re even arguing about this.
If he were innocent he wouldn"t have:
(a) Buried her body
(b) Tried to paint over the blood
(c) Taken off for Mexico
Don"t tell me that a great criminal mastermind like him, would have done a better job burying it somewhere else. This is real life, not "Alfred Hitchc*ock Presents."
He''s guilty as h*ell.
His own actions will convict him.

- first of all (doubt) if she did slash her own throat and he is innocent then the question remains: Why set her on fire and bury her and then run?

- Women don"t commit suicide by cutting their throats, except in Japan, where it"s some kind of weird tradition in the aristocracy.
In America women, even bipolar women, never choose that method. - Reply to this comment
- Circumstantial evidence can be enough to send you to the electric chair.
Our old friend Ann Coulter gives this example.
You are seen fleeing an alley with a bloody knife in your hands. Several reliable witnesses see you fleeing.
A dead body in then found in the alley. The victim has been stabbed to death.
Although no one actually saw you stab him, and the evidence is circumstantial, it can be enough to convict you. - Reply to this comment
- Tucker;
You are amazing! 1st,,you complain about CBS news, not having their facts right, then you start posting your musings, which have no basis in fact! Your misinformation serves no purpose.
That girl was killed, face it! You were wrong the 1st day,,you''re wrong now! Give it up.
BTW,,,I''ll be watching for your video on U tube, I hear salt and pepper makes a coffee cup taste better. LOL - Reply to this comment
- Suicide, I meant.
This particular act, suicide by throat cutting, is rare even in the fantasy world of movies. - Reply to this comment
- "This wild scenario turns up quite frequently in films and TV show -- I saw it most recently in the 2005 thriller "Cache" -- but seldom in real life."
Let me just cllarify this.
In this French film, a man invites another man over to his apartment. The first man then cuts his own throat (in one of the most horrifying graphic scenes in modern film) in the hopes that the other will be suspected of killing him.
This particular act, death by throat cutting, is rare even in the fantasy world of movies.
To suggest that this might have happened in real life, in the case of Maria Lauterbach. a young pregnant female, is off the charts in terms of plausibility.
Even if she did have a history of bipolar disorder, it"s right up there with UFO abductions.
It"s off the charts. - Reply to this comment
- Klingon,
yes we do have constitutional rights. But gee ya thinks he might be a little guilty here? they find blood in the house and a burned adult and fetus in the backyard. and he is running? HEEELLLLOOOOO

Well, let''s examine the facts available at this time:
1)girl claims rape by superior officer
2)girl is chummy with alledged rapist
3)girl is bi-polar(mood swings sometimes violent)
4)stepmom claims girls lies alot
5)girl is in last trimester of pregnancy
6)girl tells roommate she is leaving until hearing
7)no alarm raised for many days
8)girl is missing
9)alledged rapist disappears(AWOL)
10)bloodstains and other forensic evidence discovered
11)note from alledged rapist saying she killed self
12)burned/charred remains found in firepit of alledged rapists yard
13)alledged rapist reported in Shreveport La
14)girls atm card used twice
Have I missed anything?
Lots of circumstantial evidence, but sofar nothing concrete. Remember OJ, running in the white bronco?
He got off.

You"re just trying to get our goats.
You"re trying to provoke us with insane hyperbole(*).
I"m going to leave you alone for the rest of the day, but with one parting thought.
Some woman must have injured you very badly -- perhaps by making a false and damaging accusation against you -- for you to be this bitter toward the whole gender.

Please give a reputable source (not a movie, please) that "bipolar is insanity." - Reply to this comment
- "One of the reasons more males die by suicide, although more females attempt it, is that males tend to use deadlier methods, but even among them, death by throat cutting is extremely rare."
So rare, in fact, that it doesn"t even make the NIMH "top 3" charts. The top three methods account for almost all suicides.
Suicide methods:
Males:
Firearms 57%
Suffocation 23%
Poisoning 13%
Females
Firearms 32%
Suffocation 20%
Poisoning 38%
