Gruesome Scene At Home Of Man Accused In Rape; Remains Of Woman, Unborn Child Found In Backyard Fire Pit
- Married men killing women they are involved with (or have raped) when they find out the woman is pregnant and said child can prove they did the dirty deed. So they turn to murder.
The woman said she was raped--the military discounted it and placed her in a separate work place but did not investigate throughly for 8 months (an amnio or genetic testing would have revealed if the child was the man alleged to have raped her, and could have been done within weeks)
The one message is--It does not pay to get involved with a married man--and it certainly does not pay to inconvenience his lifestyle with a pregnancy if he has no intention of divorcing his wife. When pushed to the wall--the man often feels it is necessary to "destroy the evidence" of his cheating. Either with insisting on an abortion, or if the woman is unwilling to do that--with killing her and her unborn child.
We just had a case with the police officer killing his unborn child and mistress. "Mommy is crying....mommy is in the rug" later her and the unborn child found strangled and weighted down in a lake. Expect more of this. Women--find your own man--it is not worth the cost to yourself, your potential children or your family. - Reply to this comment
- I can argue this thing either way if I were a lawyer.I still think he did it, but I could stall a jury with my arguements, (reasonable doubt)

- Looks like everyone here; The Marines, The Sheriff''s office, The authorities, anyone else who knew something about this case...are at fault. How can a military invetigator reason that she (the victim) was probably on unathorize absence AFTER SHE HAS FILED RAPE CHARGES AGAINST ANOTHER MARINE and make nothing of it. Couldn''t he, DUH, think ''maybe something has happened to her....and conduct a search of that SOB and question him? BTW why hasn''t the SOB been arrested????????????????????????

He claimed that she slit her own throat. That''s not likely to get blood all over the ceiling and walls. His story is not consistent with the physical evidence. And if it had happened like he said, wouldn''t he then call 911 and try to save the baby ? - Reply to this comment
- If his wife knew what was going on, she probably feared for her life as well. It would appear that she contacted the police as soon as he was gone and it was safe (based on the reported time of her call and his departure).

- She killed herself, cut herself in pieces and jumped into a pit and burned herself and the baby.

Lets try this one more time since you refused to think. If this pregnant woman was having an emotional crisis and went to the home of her "rapist" to get even, and suicided in front of him as he claims there is still no way to convict him of anything but mutilation of a corpse and failure to inform the authorities, Either way, he will walk for the murder of Lance Cpl. Maria Frances Lauterbach
and her baby. - Reply to this comment

Indeed, what pain and the anxiety knowing how corrupt the military infrastructure has gotten -- to the point where the victim has no justice.
You can''t tell me that she did not attempt to seek help before this Marine psycho killed her. - Reply to this comment
- This whole thing looks pretty obvious to me slick saw a lady with some obvious problems took advantage figuring they would take his word over someone with mental issues plan went sour he destroyed the evidence unless his wife is mentaly challenaged she knew what he was up to and is a accessory after the fact seams like being cruel to women was a pastime for this loser. He''s hiding in Mexico that''s where all the deadbeats go.

- The military really needs to get its act together. They dragged their feet on this one and it has cost two lives!

- Condolences to this young girls family.
How very sad she had to end up like that. It''s obvious to me, if the Marines had protected her, this would not have happened, but this actually is an old story. Military people protect their males over females. - Reply to this comment
- If there ever was a good cause for the death penalty this is it. I would gladly pull the lever. Again and again and again for very short periods until he dies.

- When and if the facts come out correct with the article. Please don''t tell me that a firing squad is not in order. I don''t care what his problem mentally is.

- My father always considered it a matter of pride and honor to have served in the Marine Corps. He taught me that a Marine always looked out for their own. He never mentioned that you didn''t count if you were only a female Marine! I wonder what he would say about this if he were still alive today. Too many things are just not adding up....I''ll reserve opinion until more FACTS are revealed. NO EXCUSES, just FACTS. So sad for everyone involved.

- To the poster who questioned the mothers motives for revealing that her daughter was bipolar and a pathological liar...I pointed out in another post as soon as this came out that I thought that particular information was a "plant" by some unknown higher up trying to do damage control for the military. I''ll bet a dollar to a donut that this guy is found dead too...then all witnesses will be unable to testify and the military can go on as if nothing happened. I know that there may be some push for justice, but it''ll probably be futile, unless of course they utilize DNA on the fetus'' remains and convict the dead guy, who hopefully isn''t dead. I want to see him suffer.

- Please don''t misunderstand me, I think the guy did it,but if they don''t really get some hard evidence he will walk. (habeas corpus) since her mothers comments about ''bipolarism''

- "Why it had taken such a long time to bring up charges?"
Posted by adiant at 05:41 PM : Jan 12, 2008
It hadn''t. She had brought the charges last April. It sounds like the military had not really dealt with the charges until Dec., when it was determined she had a case worthy of a court-martial. (I have gleaned all this from news stories, so accuracy would need to be confirmed). - Reply to this comment
- We can only HOPE that he off''s himself, if not, then another we get to feed, house, and provide for, even tho he took not one, but 2 lives, one being his very OWN child..not like it is anything NEW that the military hides its own criminal acts in silence. They had a responsibility to protect this woman, and the unborn child. They did not. She, the baby, as well as her famlily deserve justice. The military is supposed to have higher standards, and obviously, SOME ONE (''s) has not done there job. I seriously DOUBT she went to his house willingly, if they found her cell phone on the ground, just outside the base gate. DUH. I doubt that they had forged a freindship either.
