THAT''''S why they''''re suing the government. All the donations and funding and other money that has gone to the city of New Orleans, and there''''s still broken street lights when you get downtown. Explain that one.

Might want to check the mayor''s freezer. Politicians in Louisiana seem to have an affinity for them.

I thought they had provided buses, but didn''t want to say it and upset some of the posters on here in case I was wrong. I did watch a news video from there during the crisis, where everyone including the cops were looting a walmart.

Right wing reptiles have been sucking the life out of the United States. True americans, true americans will rise against the forces of right wing anti-social evil that foams out of the fat, gross slovenly obesity of Rush Limbaugh and the whited sepulcher of bones Ann Coulter. The ignorant, lame horrid examples of humanity who willfully chose to follow what is evil and vile will be consumed by it.

There is NOTHING UNITED about the states of america.

Tell me about it. I have literally avoided any planning to go abroad until things change in this country. Only 11 more months, and hopefully our country will begin healing and going back to what it used to be. A place to be admired and a land to befriend.

WELL DONE !!!!

File that suit, I applaud the folks that filed it.

Its absolutely disgusting how the government treated the survivors of Katrina.

Making them wait and still they wait?

Did you hear the government telling the folks who survivied the TSunami in Indonesia to wait a week?
Heck NO!!! They mobilised over $2 billion dollars of aid in over 24 hours.

Its sick how thet can think that international relations are more important that their own american people!

I for one being a Brit found it to totally unacceptable.
America portrays itself as the worlds #1 super power and yet, look at it how its takes care of its own.

I have travelled extensively across the USA and I can tell you, There is NOTHING UNITED about the states of america.

I don''t think they are sueing because they want free money, I think it''s because they had to wait and are still waiting for the relief and help they needed right away when all of this happened. None of these people will recieve millions of dollars, but they do deserve something for all they had to put up with.

Speakinup. . . . what person in their right mind would spend 500k on a trailer, even if it is on a concrete pad?
You are either trying to inflate yourself or you are stupid.

Scully... I cannot give specific examples for every little thing. The fact is that a lot of places are going to get out of as much responsibility as they can, and instead of being d*cked around a put off and pushed around, somebody said "Screw it I''ll just sue for $3,000,000,000,000,000 and see what happens. Someone will notice that."

Yeah, everyone who lives under sea level shouldn''t get any compensation when a FLOOD happens, families who''ve lost people in PLANE crashes shouldn''t be compensated because they shouldn''t be up there in the FIRST PLACE, right? Oh yeah, and people who lives on plains shouldn''t get anything for TORNADOS, and in dry climates they shouldn''t be compensated for any FIRE damages, and hmmm... let''s see... Maybe we should go so far as to say that the 911 victims'' families shouldn''t have been compensated because they should''ve known working at an int''l corporation in a SKYSCRAPER was dangerous! They should''ve been prepared and pay for it themselves! Let''s be consistent here people.

There''s natural and social and economical disasters all the time. Although it saddens me that people would take advantage of those situations, what can you say for a government that allows it to happen.

Yes! They are large amounts! And if you put as much research into this topic as you did this forum then I can understand how people could come to such extreme and limited conclusions.
