We can ask why this/that. The fact of the matter is America love violance. Yes I have been bullied therefore gave it right back. In our day we did not rat to adults. I was taught yer don''t drag a gun to a fistfight, yer don''t pick on the helpless persons. I was not churched growing up and frankly glad. I am this close to banning religion in my home as it is the root of evil aa well as greed is and bully. Bush grow up and step down for the good of the nation and our family. This boy will be buried as well as war vets. Yer don''t have kids just to medicate and throw away. We have a nanny govt that is becoming more controling of our lives like it or not. The kids have no future. We were taught the graces of losing as well as winning.
To Wheezel3, I admit agree with allot of what you say, thought I don''t agree that Roberts parents should be laying dead. Robert wasn''t given the love & acceptance he needed and deserved. Maybe it''s me & maybe it''s because I''m a mom, but I thought part of being a child was to be hyper, socialize, have fun and just be a kid. As our children grow it''s normal for them to push parents, teachers & authority figures to the limits, to test boundaries and it''s the adults responsibilites to make sure that our children know what the boundaries are. I believe that society has made "excuses" & parents, teachers & others have become lazy, because it''s easier to medicate children then actually be a parent or a role model to our children. Robert told those who gave up on him that he loved them, that tells me, that Robert never gave up on them. I listened to the last message he left his Mom & though I never met Robert I could hear the pain & lonliness in Roberts voice. Not only were the people that Robert killed victims, but allot of people seem to be forgetting that Robert had been a victim for 19 years. This tragedy I believe happend for a reason...our children need us now more then ever. We are blessed with our children to love & protect them, not to medicate them or give up on them when things get tough...I believe that God has forgiven Robert & has given his troubled soul peace.
Not everything has to do with how you were brought up as a child. If your parents neglected you or not. Theres more reasons out there, how he felt inside. Pain an lonelyness are the factors. They isolated him so he must have felt that he couldnt talk to anyone. Even if he had the chance to talk to someone who really listened to what he had to say an that actually understood what he said an gave him guidance then whose to say this wouldnt have happend. Maybe this tragedy was for people all around the world to open there eyes. An give people help when they need it the most. Your actions as a person can affect a person. Even if you think it doesnt it does. whether its emotional, mental, or physical. People remember the pain forever. So let this be a lesson. Cruel intentions you play on a person doesnt give out rewards only consequences. Whose to blame really for this? You say Robert because he was the one who killed those people. maybe you should look deeper an find out who really is to blame. Nobody kills for no reason. Theres more reasons you need to look outside the box. Put yourself in his shoes an really find the reson why it happend. It could be his mom never paid attention to him. His friends not really being his friends. His girlfriend breaking up with him. Being bullied. Depression. All these could be the blame.
... and then there are adults that were neglected as children, that make better personal CHOICES! The falt/blame needs to be put in the hands of that individual that made that horriable choice!
Put the blame on the individual person that did the horrible act%u2026 until people realize that LIFE is all about the CHOICES people make as an individual not on the persons%u2019 up-bringing etc. Posted by rukidding75 at 05:21 PM : Dec 13, 2007
Sure, Mr. hawkins bears the ultimate resonsibility for his choices, but his upbringing played a factor in those choices as is the case for all. When parents chose to neglect a childs training by caring more about themselves, negative consequences can be expected. According to the story here, his parents neglected him and put their own intrests ahead of his
Dear Mum, We can''t blame ye. No matter what ye did to raise yer boy right,if he was bent on killing others he would have. He had mental health issues and he knew he could not and never should gotten his paws on that gun. What could you have done, if he was living in his own place nothing. Ye did yer duty. There are gun control laws that should have stopped him. We as a people are trully sad over this. It makes no sense he killed others. Please heal dear lady . Don''t blame yerself. Peace...Barbara aka MichelleM99

Don%u2019t find fault in the mom, dad, brother, sister etc%u2026 find the falt and make it the responsibility of that individual!
My thoughts and prayers go out to all the family and loved ones related by this amazingly horrible choice the MAN made.

It makes me vomit to think that a kid could get an AK47 to kill so many so fast. After such tragedy, we all wonder if this and that had happened instead, but its already happened. Yes, that individual behind the gun did the killing. With regards to his background, we can assume that certain unstable individual should not have access to a gun. But to what extend do we put ratings and labels on emotionally disturbed people? How do we tell if our neighbors are sane? This kid was release from a mental institute, someone must have tho he was cured. We dont know the details. Apperently he was not cured.
He was 19. An adult. We all wish we could do things differently every one of us but we can''t. Just learn from it. If she messed up, it was TV shows, movies, games etc that teach and feed violance. Was she too busy to be a Mum. At his age that man knew better but wanted to kill. The mother did not hold the gun and killed those people. Her dumb son did.
