THE LET THEM EAT CAKE MENTALITY" (referencing Marie Antoinette on the fall of the French Monarchy Government)........

That is Bush''''s mentality - take care of the rich and let the poor languish. Whether this is a good bill or not - Bush has demonstrated he DOES NOT GIVE AN IOTA about the AVERAGE AMERICAN CITIZEN. All he pander''''s too is Corporations, His Cronys and anything that will earn him and his crony''''s more money.....

"It''''s supposed to be for kids. Not adults. It''''s supposed to assist families who don''''t qualify for Medicaid/Medicare not families with an annual income of $70,000 and up. Wise Up Congress. If we want socialized medicine, we''''ll let you know.

Amazing to think that Cheney is still a kid, with a family annual income lower than $70,000 :

Actually, there is a government-sponsored program for adults, even for the rich ... For some reason, this administration doesn''t object ...

I agree with Bush on this.

It is matter of approving $700 billions for military (highest ever) a veto for kids health. Time and again one thing is clear. Huge sums of money for defense, Halliburton, huge subsidy for big fat oil companies and big zero for kids health. Just think about it. I pay for my kids health, in hard times who will ? Do not take them to doctor, that is what is this about. When I lost job I got COBRA payment requirement of $900 a month(without any job in hand) to keep health care for 5 months till I found another.

It wouldn''''t hurt him to help kids in America.

What would make you think that Bush likes or dislikes kids by this veto? Only the lack of wisdom would present such an idea. Do you want a country where the government dictates EVERYTHING you do and HOW you do it? That was the ideology of the USSR and you see where it got them. The grip just closed tighter and tighter until the republic crumbled. Our government is suppose to be for the people by the people, not for the people by the government. You know? Founded on the concept of Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness. How can we be liberated if the government owns us?

(Using my new found bliss in neocon logic%u2026) Good on you "w"...that''s true leadership!!! I''m all for increasing the number of sick and dying kids in America with no hope of getting affordable medical treatment. After all, W-the president, knows that most of these alleged %u201Ckids%u201D are registered Democrats. Whoo%u2014whoo!!! Die you immature sick Democrats. If you can%u2019t afford your high-priced Democrat children, don%u2019t have them. (Its such fun%u2014and so easy--to be a moronic neocon!)

Fixing health care is simple. We don''t need the government to run or pay for everything. All the government needs to do is provide a legislative framework. We need laws that keep value in the system and prevent the drug and insurance companies from siphoning off huge profits without providing back an equal or greater value. Wall Street is not funded by the government but could not operate without its framework of oversight and regulation. In capitalism each player must add value for the system to operate effectively; when that happens every body benefits. When is does not we have socialization or corporate welfare. When we have a president and congress willing to stand up to the lobbies our nation will have the best health care system on earth. The American people are ready and willing to accept the freedom and responsibly for their own best interests.

Don''t sit there and say the Dems have not tried... Without a firm majority in the house or senate, "w" can turn back any advancement in progresive legislation. The Dems don''t have the votes to over turn.

Bush proves once again how much of an immoral jerk he is. I just look at the mess the Repub party has made of this country and the world in 7 years and it astounds me. Bush will rank with Hitler, Stalin, and Mao as to the damage they did to their own people and the world. He and Cheney do not have one redeeming factor.

This chronic failure, this low-life, sub-mental, cowardly coke-head, who deserted from military service during the Vietnam War (an act called treason when not committed by our, "ruling elite") this absolute worst president in US history, actually has the gall to veto such a bill in the name of fiscal responsibility after allowing his cronies to loot the treasury of a trillion dollars for his Iraq oil deal.

He doesn''t need to be voted out of office...he doesn''t need to be impeached...he needs to be dragged out to the Rose Garden and shot (along with the rest of his odious gang)

He''ll leave a legacy all right.

Be ashamed America...be very ashamed...especially you Republicon scum. Either you''re too stupid to see what''s been going on or you approve of it!
