- We are a nation of laws, but when you are talking about laws pertaining to war, it''s another animal. And I know you know this. Technique for interrogation vary on situation. And sleep deprivation and extended physical exertion are just a few. You want to extend to people who do not reconize that law and do not extend it to us, the protection of it. And that is just not right. We can continue to go back and forth on this, and believe me, you opinion is valued. I believe if one American life is saved it is worth it.

- The great satan is at it again. You blew the towers up yourselves, you are the terrorists, you are the axis of evil, you played fake videos on 9/11, you continue to enjoy bombing poor people and stealing their resources, you are the greatest danger to a civilized world.
The problem is you! - Reply to this comment
- The United States has always had the respect of other Nations for our fairness and honesty--until now.
The United States has held itself "above" those forms of torture--until now.
We have been reduced to the level of the lowest form of humanity, thanks to the Bush terrorists.
I don''t want to be in front of the fan when stuff starts to hit it.
J Rockefeller was one Dem who had seen those tapes and said nothing and he isn''t the only one!
Could be a big reason he sees no need for a "special counsel"--HE!!, I''m all for it--investigate away!!!! - Reply to this comment

,, Over the decades all the way back to the Spanish American War, cases have been in our nations courts involving exactly these kinds of abuses --

- its obvious the cia and those in government pushing for the suppression or destruction of all evidence revealing just how cruel and inhuman p.m.c. interrogators can be, should be removed from office or relieved of their postitions. And who thought it''d be a good idea to have a rockefeller in congress? obviously the same group of people who supported hitler and the nazis. what people? well people like prescott bush the grandfather of the guy who had the presidency handed to him by his corporate co conspirators. If americans don''t wise up these nazi murderers are going to pull another 9/11 and blame it on muslims allover again.

- There''s a site called moveon.org, there is a response from a Marine over there that I think is worth reading. There are none of us who know the extend of what information that the CIA used as criteria, we know what has been reported. And j-whitman, you''re right it is about us holding ourselves to a higher standard. But again when your dealing with an enemy who doesn''t follow the Geneva Convention, you do not extend to them that courtesy. The Convention was to bring a decorum to warfare so all would be held equally accountable under said document. It is not lowering yourself to their level, it is survival. And those who refuse to obide by said rules, do not deserve it''s protection.

You are a dope -- Bush''s lawyers told him to **** because he screwed up yet again -- if the CIA thought they were in the right they wouldn''t have destroyed the tapes -- even Jerry Springer can ''protect''the ID of folks on tapes - and the CIA can''t???
Wanna buy a bridge too --or would you rather steal it like a real Bushie??? - Reply to this comment
- Yea like we all expected him to say I did it or knew.

- Edward1975 is clearly a genius. Obviously, anyone concerned about the rule of law, civil rights, and human rights is a terrorist. Doing whatever we want to whomever we choose for whatever reason is what FREEDOM and AMERICA are all about, right Eddie? Dang, it almost makes you wonder why so many folks bother to hide it if it''s all OK anyway. Using this administration''s own logic, if they have nothing to hide, they should have nothing to fear. Then again, maybe Eddie can clarify how questioning authority is unAmerican. Freedom. Terrorists. ''Merica. God bless.

- Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Bill O''Reilly will tell you oversight is a subversive, liberal notion. Without oversight, there is no accountability, and no law.

- Ahhh I see Edward with the crystal ball that tells him who is or is not innocent is back.
None of these people have been convicted of anything. The bulk of the detainees at Gitmo were scooped up because our CIA was handing out $20k to anyone who''d point out a member of the Taliban or Al-Qaeda. Anyone who had a grudge against anyone pointed the finger at whoever they didn''t like and they were grabbed and sent to Gitmo with no investigation and NO QUESTIONS ASKED! If you''re so sure these are terrorists who want to kill our troops, then prove it in a fair trial! - Reply to this comment
