Take Mexico - how does that work, again? A thin white (ok, Euro) elite, a vast mixed race (mestizo) working class, and at least 10 million extremely impoverished pure Indians?

Talk about racism... posted by ibsteve2u at 02:35 AM

You got that right!! But remember, corporate America is thriving over there. NAFTA was not created for the benefit of the poor in that country.

If you ask me, the best thing we could do for Latin American illegal immigrants is to arm them, train them in the fine arts of war, and then send them home to fix their own nations.

Don''''t forget, Hitler not only killed Jews, but also Poles French Dutch, Spanish, North Africans, Brits, Americans, and Russians, these are nationalities, not races...

By the way, do you know who was selling fuel to Hitler during his aggression against Europe?

That''s right, Prescott Bush, grandaddy of Hitler Jr.

Greed, simple as that.

Did you ever stop to consider that the company you observed may have had a history of breaking other labor laws and generally treating their employees like garbage, which is both why they were first forced to resort to hiring illegal immigrants and why Americans might know better than to show up?

There is a lot of truth to old adages like "one rotten apple spoils the bunch"; if you find a firm hiring illegal immigrants, there is a high likelihood that a little scratching will bring up a lot of dirt.

They are still around. They still hire illegals and they are very cruel to them. And no, they don''t care to help them so that they will be legal.

True. But to Hitler they were inferior races, as he understood it. "Keine edle Rasse!" "Not a noble race!"

After they first lost their workers, they went and advertised for new workers. Only two Americans showed up.

Was Hitler''''''''s racism about economics?

Absolutely. Ask any German old enough, they will tell you that Hitler rose to power promising to restore the failed Wiemar economy, where the Deutschemark devalued to 1/250,000th of its former value, and Germany was in a paralyzing depression.

The conquest of Europe brought unimaginable amounts of gold into Germany, as they stripped conquered countries of all the wealth they could find.

As I said before, the "race" component was an explanation that allowed them to avoid telling the truth, they were simply thugging their neighbors... Posted by brianbwb at 02:19 AM

Hmm. I don''t know that I agree. Yes, Hitler was more than willing to take their wealth. That much is true. But even when it was becoming costly to him to exterminate the Jewish people, he continued to pursue this policy at all costs. To me racism has very little to do with logic.

That is my point. Thank you. I wrote a whole thesis up about this several years ago. I noted that often the corporate big wigs were first in line to keep these people illegal, because they knew that the moment they were legal, then they would go out and get better paying jobs. I watched a business have all their workers run from immigration authorities, and then those who came back they just made them change their social security numbers. After they first lost their workers, they went and advertised for new workers. Only two Americans showed up.

See, I tried to get Americans to work in the fields when I was working for welfare.

If I had a dollar for everybody that ever inserted that tidbit that once "they were working for welfare"...

That tactic of attempting to use a well-known stench to conceal a different stench is inevitably rolled out of the closet when all else fails.

You''re a master at circular logic, rudy.

But it never gets anywhere.

Okay well Stevey, thank you. You have made my point better than anyone. Of course you don''t want other people to have what you have, even if they are Americans. See, I tried to get Americans to work in the fields when I was working for welfare. But, they realized that if they did, they would lose benefits including health care. So no, they wouldn''t leave welfare to work the fields. So there you go, you are just as much a supporter of illegal immigration as any of the corporate big wigs (usually corporate farmers).

Not at all Stevey, I just think that it is hypocritical that descendents of illegals have the audacity to oppose the immigration of poor people to this country when all they want to do is have the same opportunity given to your people. The audacity to call the descendents of the original inhabitants of this continent illegals. Or do you think that once your people came here, that was enough?

"Stevey"?

Congratulations! You''re the 1,000th ''net ranter who, in failing to bulldoze me with specious arguments, resorted to calling me "Stevey"!

Too bad I don''t have a prize for you.

"What it IS about are people who, by their actions, have broken American law and yet still want to reap the benefits that America has to offer." Posted by clgl_fubar

I think that the mistake many make is to "punish the flies for being attracted to the sugar", and assume the illegals are the only wrong party, but in truth the businesses that "lay the sugar out in the open" hiring them for the low wages are the real culprits. I think that those whom rudy refers to as "racists" only posit anti illegal hate speech without calling for the hirers of illegals to be dealt with just as harshly as those they hire. This makes it seem "racist" and to an degree, it is...

For my part, I want the illegals to leave, because I want you to get your way so that you no longer can exploit them through the cheap produce you buy.

Posted by rudy654 at 02:08 AM : Dec 09, 2007

What makes these illegals so special?

When I was a kid, I "migrated" out from the town I lived in to various farms to bale hay, shovel ***, cut corn out of soybean fields, etc. etc. etc.

But did I expect the farmer to take me into his home, give me medical care, and ensure my education?

Nope. I expected minimum wage as long as the job lasted. And that was it.

I repeat, what makes these migrant workers more special than me, who was born here and who served in this nation''s Armed Forces for half a dozen years?

You are aware that you just argued that an invasion and occupation, ongoing or not, of America is justifiable in your eyes based upon past history?

And yet you neglect to mention the fact that the exact same historical scenario applies to every single nation south of Texas?

Irksome, when somebody advocates permitting an invasion by invaders because of past invasions by the invaded.Posted by ibsteve2u at 02:06 AM
