I''ve said it before and I''ll say it again: punish the crime, not the thought. A felony is a felony. How in God''s name can thoughts be proved anyway? Lawyers will have a field day with this. What if someone hates humans, and randomly commits a crime against one of them? No matter what the genetic makeup is of the victim, isn''t that a hate crime too?
Dishing out more punishment for perceived hate will not fix any problem. In fact, it may only bring forth more hate. Education is how we try to change minds. Respect is gained by wanting only what everyone else has, which is equal justice, not unequal justice. Hates crimes are a slippery slope. The thought police will soon be after all of us. - Reply to this comment
- While today''s Christians hold the homophobic torch today, how do Jews feel about ***? While Jesus said pretty much nothing either way, the Old Testament is pretty eloquent, such as in Leviticus 18:20 where it states that Homosexuality is an abomination to the Lord and then in 20:13, where it states that if a man lies down with another man, both are to be exterminated. Or in Deuteronomy, where God asks that ******, sodomites and dogs be kept out of the house.

And if they tried to pass a law for anyone of those groups, I would be against. The police and the President are not demanding special rights, OK? If he hates anyone, that is wrong. You cannot find where jesus said "you must hate this person" all he ever said was you must hate the sin, not the sinner. He didn''t tell us to make them feel good about sinning by giving permission for whatever sin you want to name. He said to tell them about Jesus and GOD and let them make up their minds to accept him or reject him. He never said to bully, coerse, intimidate or belittle people who haven''t yet accepted him. A lot of Christians make that huge mistake and end up failing to help those they were sent to. They are really concerned and caring but a lot of outsiders see it differently and reject their advances. - Reply to this comment
