Sen. Joe Biden on Tuesday was incredulous over President Bush''s statement that he learned only last week that a recent intelligence estimate says Iran halted its nuclear weapons program in 2003. "If that''s true ... he''s one of the most incompetent presidents in modern American history." Biden said

AJMarine1,,, If you are talking about Clinton''s Oslo Accords

Officially called the Declaration of Principles on Interim Self-Government (ie. Palestinian State)Arrangements or Declaration of Principles (DOP) was a milestone in Israeli-Palestinian conflict. It was the first direct, face-to-face agreement between Israel and the Palestinians. It was the first time that the Palestinians publicly acknowledged Israel''s right to exist. It was also a framework for the future relations between Israel and the anticipated State of Palestine, when all outstanding final status issues between the two states would be addressed and resolved.
Did it fail ??? Not actually, in fact it was the forerunner to this process -
-- What I think you saw was more reluctance from Isreal & American supported right wing groups still on our State Dept''s list of terrorist groups & further restrictions on the borders..

We played the silly games with him for 12 long years, should we have done this forever?

Sadam Hussein had nothing to do with 911, he was the terrorist in Iraq--the rest were in Saudi Arabia Afghanistan and everywhere else.

If we went there for the mere purpose of "saving" the Iraqui people--we did a crappy job!!
Not only there--but we left our own country unprotected--open boarders and scraps of military here.

Our "purpose" was to go after the terrorists that attacked us and they weren''''t in Iraq!!

Even if they did have weapons--there were no terrorists there--they did not attack us--oops

AJMarine1,,, Whst deal did Clinton offer them that they refused ?? You might start aaking what part did Isreal''s government played in the continued violence.
As for the Annapolis meeting, who was there with any power ???
,, Olmert is on his way out & charged with corruption, not even Isrealites put any stock in peace efforts..
.. Abbas is a very weak PLO President without the support of his people.
.. Bush is on his way out in a year & has no crediblity..
.. Syria sent the deputy foreign minsister, a slap in Bush''s face & Bush won''t stand up to the Saudi''s who have the worst Shria Laws & still won''t accept Isreal

Bush is no hero for removing Saddam Hussein from power, perhaps only to some Iraqis (and Iranians).

..........

Yale is proud, and so are the members of the "Skull and Bones" society.

Bush has created more (empty) skulls and (separated) bones than Saddam Hussein ever had.

Mirror

My friends, sometimes the most difficult thing about fighting evil is realizing that it actually exists, and then unambiguously and forcefully calling it what it is.

History shows time and time again that one of evils greatest strengths is its ability to disguise itself as good, or at least a temporary necessity, until that last fatal moment when its revelation becomes clear, indisputable, and inescapable.

So today let us take a clear and unadulterated look into the mirror at ourselves.

Just six years ago we were one of the most respected and admired defenders of democracy and human rights in history. Respected not only by our friends, but even begrudgingly by most of our enemies. In fact, even the fantastic power of our military paled in comparison to the overwhelming might of our moral authority.

Today we are a nation that operates secret prisons occupied by anonymous inmates, illegally abducted and held indefinitely without charge or representation. We are guilty of torture. We are guilty of murder. We are guilty of preemptive war of conquest. We are guilty of the wholesale surveillance of our population, suppressing all hope of privacy and free dissent. And we are guilty of disgracing our nation through the abandonment of even our most basic precepts of morality.

If this is not evil, then nothing we have ever fought against is evil, and nothing we have ever fought for is good.

He''''s lost all credibility in the region by invading Iraq, he ignored Isreal/Palestine peace efforts for 7 years & incouraged the contnuiation of the violence --

After the deal Clinton offered them and they turned it down, I wouldn''t pay any attention to them either until they were serious about making peace. When we get involved they say "mind your own business," when we are not involved they say "Where is the US, they must do something."

At the last summit at Annopolis(?) most of the Middle East countries were there, even Irans ally Syria was there, p*sing off Iran and leaving them isolated.

AJMarine.....sure, you would have backed Clinton.... easy to say now. Problem is, Osama is still running around and now, instead of attacking Iraq (brilliant move by the monkey in charge), he wants to go after Iran which is no threat. Yale must be so proud!

Maybe change the statis quo of the f**ked up mess called the Middle East so our children and grand children don''''t have to deal with it?

Posted by AJMarine1 at 09:48 PM : Dec 04, 2007
.................

Whether Bush invaded Iraq or not...

...as long as we require their oil

...as long as a fundamentalist religion is driving the governments of the Middle East

...as long as we have presence in the Middle East

...then our children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many generations thereafter...

...will have to deal with the "f**ked up mess called the Middle East."

AJMarine1,,,, Iraq, the surge is over & didn''t meet it''s mission, security is sketchy at best, & Iraq''s army we find out now isn''t up to the job, even that was spun by this administration --
-- Secretary Gates is in Afaganistan finding out about the reinsurgence of the Taliban, that war is going down hill as well, & the Pentagon is even talking about legalizing the opium production.
--- Yet you folks think Bush is going to make headway in the Middle East ????

This lunatic in his GI Joe underwear wants a world war and will stop at nothing to get it.

The lies and decite from this administration since 911 are enough to put them all away for life, and out elected officials have done nothing for the past year.

They''re afraid if they make a move, they won''t be re-elected in 08--guess what, they won''t anyway--for the mere reason they have done nothing.

Clinton had a 68% approval rating during his impeachment proceedings--the total approval rating for this administration doesn''t come near to 68%!

As for Joe Lieberman, he''s on the side of Israel--another anti american!
