- I reckon where i came from, things weren''t right if we didn''t get whoopin for things we did. Kids now a days don''t know what it means to have the fear of bein punished. Me and me sisters got whoopins regularly. And none of us have ever shown signs of violence caused by "mental problems" stemmin from gettin our ***** whooped....The kids of today are free to go no matter what the deal is. Just don''t understand..

- Now I''m getting pissed off!! How dare the government tell me what to do in my own home. I live in Ohio where we passed that sorry anti-smoking bill. I don''t smoke, but I voted against it. This country is turning into a dictatorship. Soviet Union here we come. It''s time to wake up people. If this *** doesn''t stop, there''s going to be an American Revolutionary War Part 2 because people are going to get fed up with it and revolt.

- Take a listen to 109-113 "But *my* parents were really nice". No ma''''am! If you were raised to believe "spanking" is OK, then you are violently ill and actually it can be proven without any doubt.

Trolling again? Let''s see last time (posting under a different name of course) you were making outrageous statements about circumcision wasn''t it? Equating it to CIA torture just to get a rise out of people. You have no more serious opinion about spanking then my pet Shih-tzu does and you make it obvious by your claims that it equals a mental illness. Have fun, but I hope no one takes you serious in your game playing.
Troll all the way. - Reply to this comment
- Besides, the government already has their hands in our lives too much. Don''t give them any more control, or we are all in a world of trouble.

- Government cannot legislate morality and shouldn''t. Spare the rod, spoil the child. I wish more of the little monsters that run amok would get a good swat or 2 to their behinds. Maybe they would learn how to behave and have respect for others. Self esteem harmed? I don''t think so..."self-esteem" is high when a person feels good about himself for doing the right thing...get it? SELF-esteem. No one can give this or take this away or harm it. I''m sick of hearing about this. Let parents be parents!Amen.

- The issue is not of morals, but of control. Bit by bit the state wants to wrestle control away from parents and render it to itself.
Whoever equated beating a spouse with spanking an unruly child is frankly, an idiot. Children have been spanked for eons, and in the last 50 years or so someone decided that it is harmful to a child. Well it''s not! and occasional whack on the tush is not abuse, it reinforces the point the parent is making. No one is advocating beating the kid to within an inch of his life, but warming the bottom will not kill the kid.
Our personal freedoms have been whittled away bit by bit by the state. That is the real crime. I do not wish to live in a "nanny state" where I am told what to do and when to do it by the government. - Reply to this comment
- I think this is a ridiculous idea. A little swat on the hand or on the bottom goes a long way in discipline. I was taught like this (after time-out, stern discussions didn''t work) and I turned out just fine, thanks. It''s appalling to hear/see what young adults are up to these days---and for the record, a lot of the spouse abusers that I have come across weren''t disciplined.

- Leave it to Massachusetts to concoct ways to separate family. They can think of more ways to pivot children against their parents that any other state in the Union. After all the focus on the family there isn''t really about family, it''s about personal relationships.
