What''s especially cowardly about dog fighting with bully breeds is that the reason they are so pliable for training to become fighters is because of their overwhelming desire to please their "master". They''ll fight to the death because that''s what their owner wants from them.

These animals have a bad rap but are not naturally agressive; sick people train them to be that way in order to compensate for their small weenies.

My chow-pit mix is the most docile and loving dog ever. When I have to mildly discipline her she''s depressed for hours and I end up having to console her(which totally undermines my authority). She wants nothing more than to please.

He should receive the same punishment that he made those poor innocent dogs suffer.

I don''t care what colour his skin is, what kind of sports star he is/was, I don''t care how much money he made at his job. I don''t care about whether or not he should be allowed to return to his former team/company. All that is irrelevant.

The only important thing that matters is that he was caught, he was stopped, he is going to be punished. My regret is that he will not be punished enough for the crime of abusing those dogs.

Anyone who considers dog fighting (or forcing any animals to maul each other to death) a "sport" is an absolute moron & a piece of useless garbage. I am against dog & horse racing as well.

Perhaps he will find some love & compassion in prison- doggie style.

Not making any excuses for Michael Vick. He broke the law and now has to do the time just like any of us would have to. Regardless of what you think of him though, he didn''t wait for the cops to drag him away.

Good! This man is a dog killer - in my book that is at least as bad as a human killer. Dogs are very sweet animals that should be respected. We owe it to them after millinea of shaping their breeds and domesticating them; they are partially our own creation. We should treat them as our best friend because that is what they are.
