realpatriot1, excellent point, I too, am a dog lover, and find Vick''s actions appalling, my two dogs, one is a Rottweiler mixed with pit and the other a Sheppard mixed, both male, and sweet as they can be, with the exception the Rottweiler chewed by seat belts, but you can''t help to love them.

So, I was outraged over what Vick was accused of doing, this does not negate that individuals accused of rape and murder shouldn''t receive harsh sentences, but those who can''t understand individuals that love animals shouldn''t be so quick to rush to judgment..

I feel that way about basically all animals, even the ones we consume..If I had to kill a chicken or slaughter a pig to eat, well I guess I''ll be eating fruits, nuts, beans, and vegetables. The most I would kill is "fish", and would feel apprehension.

I don''t like watching National Geographic and the Animal Planet and seeing individuals slaughtering sharks for sport, it makes me cringe and angry, cutting off the fins to serve in upscale Restaurants in Asia, I was infuriated. And the same goes for snakes, I love snakes, I couldn''t kill one to eat.


Maybe to some folks animals are meaningless, but to others who appreciate nature and all living things, animals are a blessing.

Animals are not treated with the same rights and values under the law. That''s why criminal Vick gets to "volunteer" to show up to prison early, rather than taken there in shackles. And that''s why he only has a few months to a year to look forward to, rather than the life sentence, or in some states, death sentence, he''d get if he had committed the same crimes against humans.

And, in case you don''t know it, abortion is legal under certain circumstances. That''s the law. The fact that you''re probably part of some nutty right-wing religious sect which opposes abortion doesn''t give you any entitlement to try to deny animals the little amount of protection they have under the law.

Well, while I agree 100pct with your premise, unless you replace "white people" with "some white people" you are guilty of what you are accusing white people of doing. There are some racists in the white community, and their are some thugs in the black community. It never occured to me (I am white) to associate dog fighting with the greater black community. In fact, here in Kansas most of the people I have known associated with this heinous practice have been red-necks who are probably members of the Klan! I don''t think race has anything to do with this case. Cruelty is cruelty and this guy is getting exactly what he deserves.

You problem is that you do not comprehend that a zygote is not a "human". Neither is a fetus.

If the were, they wouldn''t be called zygotes and fetuses, they''d be called "humans".

For your edification, Merriam-Webster defines "human as "a bipedal primate mammal".

Note: it doesn''t define "human" as a fetus or a zygote.

I hope Vick suffers horribly from what he''s done but I doubt it. They''ll glorify him in jail probably.
