"So do I. Since you''''re raising the issue, why don''''t you have the stones to go to Horn''''s house and call him out? "

So, you agree with me? As a murder suspect, Mr Horn deserve to die by immediate vigilante justice? Oh nvm, you meant it as a playground retort.

"Here''''s a thought. If in Mr Horn''''s mind, it is justifiable to shoot two burglary suspects. Now he''''s a MURDER suspect. "In his mind," is he fair game for me and other people who are siding against him?" posted by gaperdave

Yes, he is now a "MURDER suspect", so in MY mind that makes him a hell of a lot more dangerous than a burglar, doesn''t it? So if anyone sees him on the street they should consider him very dangerous. You never know when he might decide to shoot someone. God forbid if someone should shoot HIM, if they decide they are in danger.

I don''t lie.

This ISN''T the only article that was written. There was one before this that didn''t include the dialog with 911. There is usually a link to other articles but not always right away. Sometimes when they put on a new article they keep the same "title" which this one has so I don''t know whether they will have a link to the other.

"It''''s premeditated murder. This guy is sitting there with a phone, planning the the killing while analyzing if he could get away with it..." posted by gaperdave

This is exactly why he should be charged with murder. Not only was he stupid enough to take the law into his own hands AFTER being told not to go outside but because he told the authorities he was going to shoot them. Now that is REALLY STUPID, in fact I don''t think you can get more stupid than this. Someone this stupid DESERVES to be charged.

"More cartoonish stereotyping of Americans from the buffoon squad"

Yeah, well I am not the only one that thinks this way, the whole world does. I also have relatives that live in the U.S.

There must be a reason for the WHOLE world to think this way and if it was my country that people had that view of and they were WRONG then I would be trying to do everything in my power to try and change that image.

Oh yeah, where was it said? According to the article, Horn told the dispatcher that he didn''t know those neighbors very well.

This is a great example of why firearms should never be treated as a deterrent. I bet ol'' rosy cheeked Joe Horn took his shotgun outside expecting for the burglars to drop to their knees and wait for the cops. When things didn''t go as planned, Joe panicked. Joe isn''t evil, just stupid. Even if he is found to be within the LAW, he violated the two burglars RIGHT to life. He deserves to suffer some consequence.

One obvious reason Horn took action may have been because he worried for his neighbors'' physical safety as well as the fact they were robbed. After waiting 4 minutes after reporting a felony in progress listening to the operator repeatedly tell him the police would handle it, it became *** obvious that the police were not "handling" the situation and that (armed?) robbers would get away with robbery and possibly get away with harming someone inside the house.

"Disagree, but be respectful. Bring a rational, informed arguement; not hatred." posted by sferrari81

I have tried the respectful route but when people are disrespectful to me, I am disrespectful back.

And talking about HATRED, that is funny coming from someone that comes from a country that is full of HATE. I have been reading posts on here for many months and there is hatred for everything and everyone. The racism is out of this world. And it doesn''t seem to matter if the subject is political or not, the subject of politics and the hatred for the "democrats" or "republicans" etc. is always brought into everything. It is pathetic.

My posts are always rational and informed. I can''t help it if most of you do not know about your own country but then that is a well known fact. Not only do the people of the U.S. know NOTHING about other countries but nothing about their own as well.

If I am BLUNT it is only because I see a once powerful nation going down the tubes and no one is doing anything about it. It is like people sitting back in a haze, watching it happen. I am just trying to wake people up because nothing else seems to get through. Sometimes it takes someone standing on the outside looking in, to see what is REALLY happening.

@jd9090
You state: "So it doesn''''t matter if if they were armed or not".

It matters a great deal, especially since Horn clains that the robbers came charging toward him in his own yard. It also matters because some posters here are charaterizing the robbers as "nonviolent", and whether or not they were armed would go along way toward establishing their ''nonviolent'' intentions. Whether or not the robbers were armed is Basic reporting 101, yet none of the MSM articles I''ve read tell us that critical detail. Why is that?

jd9090 writes:
"What even makes you think about that? Are you automaticaly thinking that a hispanic name = illegal alien? If they had "american" names would this thought even cross your mind?"

Oh my, aren''t you quite the judgemental conclusion jumper. The heck it''s not relevant whether or not they are illegal aliens. It''s news. The reason I brought it up was not, as you allege, because they had hispanic surnames, but because other media reports said that their documentation was sketchy, that they had ID from 3 or 4 different countries. But hey, don''t let those details get in the way of your phony self-righteous tirade

The case would be slam dunk for the prosecutors have the burglars been armed. If they were not, he could claim to have bring the shotgun only to intimidate the suspects in order to restrain them only to have shot the unarmed man due panic, defense of a rush, etc.

If he knew that they were armed going in, then he took the shot gun, and left the safety of his castle. He obviously intended on forcing a deadly confrontation after careful deliberation despite the detering consult from a criminal justice professional over the phone for over 4 minute. This is no heat of the moment.

That''s murder one.
