way to go joe, if more civilians had the cahoonas to take this kind of action i bet crime would drop tremendously, guess the police should have gotten there a little quicker, then the culprits could have lived to pilage again.

CBS_Oliver, I pretty much agree with what you said there. That guy sure was eager to kill - even a bit excited about it. And the police got there like 1 or 2 minutes later.

Full credit and praise should be given to the 911 operator who did all that anyone could have asked to help Joe Horn make the right decision and take the right actions.

He is the hero of this otherwise sad story.

The whole 911 conversation sounded like a man determined to kill some robbers because the law said he could do it. I might of done the same thing if I thought they had hurt somebody. But as it was stated the law was intended for people defending there own property otherwise you get what we have here, Joe Horn the vigilante.

Heh bvckvs & CBS_Oliver, **** you both AND the high horse you rode in on! He defended against CRIMINALS and I applaud that and would most likely do the same you lowlifes. No doubt you''re both just a couple wanting to steal others property too and how dare anybody hold you accountable for your actions!

The redneck bigot decided to disobey the cops'' orders to put down his gun. Then, he disobeyed the cops'' orders to not shoot.

Regardless of how much his neighbors like him, or share his values, he''s a criminal and he should be treated just like any other criminal.

The GOOD NEWS is that he has helped to demonstrate to the nation just how bad the character of Houstonians is, and why they are such a very REPUBLICAN community.

I bet there won''t be a lot of robberies in his neighborhood anymore.

The castle domain has its purpose.

Why did the police take so long to get there???

Carieg197, well said, great piece. You are, of course, 100% correct and right on the money. Any people on this forum who disagree with you are liars, hypocrites, and liberal criminal sympathizers. Those two guys deserved to DIE the instant they even decided to rob or burglarize. Plain and simple. Joe Horn did us all a favor. I wish the USA had 20 million more Joe Horns, we''d all be safer.

Oh PLEASE! That was probably a lie to give him the excuse he needed to shoot them.

Remember, he already said he was going to shoot them BEFORE he left the house.

All I can add to this is that Joe Horn is the kinda guy I admire. Screw your opinions about him being an executioner. He took out two people that were committing a crime. A crime people! How hard is it to understand that? Those two people whose lives were lost made their choices to break the law and their deaths were the consequence. I have thought hard about how I feel about them losing their lives but you know what, they shouldn%u2019t have been there in the first place and this could have been avoided. That is the truth. Joe Horn was protecting what he considered his domain and if that meant his protection on a neighbor%u2019s house, well I want him as my neighbor. Why should Mr. Horn been persecuted for doing what so many of us have wanted to do ourselves just never had the balls to do so.. Be truthful people, at some point in your life you thought it. The police can%u2019t be everywhere and there are delays that prevent from arriving to scenes. Criminals get away as a result and for these two be 6 feet under now saves a whole hell lot money wasted on their incarceration and the court room costs. Call me whatever but there should be more people like Joe Horn.

THIS IS A CASE OF PURE IGNORANCE ON JOE HORNS PART AND SOME OF THE PEOPLE WHO MADE THOSE IGNORANT STATEMENTS SHOWN ABOVE.OUR TAX DOLLARS THAT ARE SPENT ON THE POLICE FORCE ARE JUST THAT THEY NEED TO EARN THEIR MONEY IF YOU CAN READ YOU CAN SEE THAT IF JOE HORN WOULD HAVE STAYED IN HIS HOME HE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN IN ANY DANGER. HE IS NOT A HERO JUST ANOTHER "HOODED" CRIMINAL.THE LAST TIME I CHECKED HELL IS NOT COLOR BLIND AND THERE ARE PLENTY OF OTHER RACES IN JAIL BESIDES BLACKS.I HOPE JOE HORN HAS PLENTY OF SUN BLOCK CAUSE HE IS GONNA NEED IT!!!!!!

Seems a lot of comments are off point and others are not in agreement with the article. Read this part again:

"Get the law over here quick. I''ve now, get, one of them''s in the front yard over there, he''s down, he almost run down the street. I had no choice. They came in the front yard with me, man, I had no choice! ... Get somebody over here quick, man."

Dispatcher: "Mister Horn, are you out there right now?"

Horn: "No, I am inside the house, I went back in the house. Man, they come right in my yard, I didn''t know what the --- they was gonna do, I shot ''em, OK?"

Sounds like after he confronted the burglars, they came after him, even though he had a shotgun. I didn''t read that they were NOT armed. Seems like his life was in danger. He shot them at range of less than 15 feet. That''s close enough.

I heard the audio on the news last night. The article above leaves out the part where he warns them twice not to move or he''ll shoot. That was just before he says "Boom, you''re dead."

Based on the article, deadly force is allowed to stop a robbery and to save a life. One''s own home was not specified in the article. Any of you who are Texas lawyers can pipe in and state the law. Everyone else is speculating. But since they attacked him in his own yard, seems like self defense to me.

Glad it wasn''t me. Joe is neither a hero nor criminal. He''s just a law-abiding man.

I listened to the tape again. I was mistaken earlier in that Horn waited on the police to show up to a reported felony in progress for 6 1/2 minutes, not 4 minutes as I posted earlier. Police can''t always be there in a timely fashion to keep us safe.

I still haven''t seen a news report which tells us whether or not the robbers were armed. Given the controversy over the robbers'' identification reported in some news stories, with ID allegedly from multiple countries, it also needs to be reported if the robbers were illegal aliens. If they were illegals, that is news which needs to be reported.

From all reports, Horn was a real standup guy in the community. But unfortunately, he''ll be tarred and trashed as a "murderer", as we''ve already seen on these threads and elsewhere.

"He may be charged, but I''''ll make a prediction: you will never, never, EVER find a Texas jury who will vote 12-0 to convict this guy." posted by MichaelT302

The U.S. is going to hit ROCK BOTTOM sooner or later but if this man gets away with PREMEDITATED MURDER, this will be a HUGE step towards that bottom.

If he had gone outside and shot those burglars first and then phoned the cops and made up a story that would have been one thing, but to openly tell them that he was going to shoot them, is another. He can not be allowed to get away with it. But in reality, I would expect nothing else from the good old U.S. of A.
I think you will reach that bottom SOONER than I actually thought.

I never get tired of this story. Joe Horn is our new family''s hero. I love it when he says "you wanna bet?" and calmly steps outside and kills these garbage, these utter waste of oxygen. Yippeee, not only did they get what they deserved, but Joe, by his actions , saved the taxpayers MILLIONS of dollars on trial and prison costs. This is all win-win-win-win. There are so many wins here I have lost track.

"So, you agree with me? As a murder suspect, Mr Horn deserve to die by immediate vigilante justice?"

I think that is such a well thought out and intelligent position for you to hold... you need to follow up with that idea.
