Comments on: Mukasey Confirmed As Attorney General
Wins Confirmation 53-40, Despite Waterboarding Controversy
- Ron Paul is THE ONLY CANDIDATE for President who does not support secret offshore prisons like the one in Guantanamo, wherein our government tortures prisoners, who have no right to redress of grievance, or to Writ of Habeus Corpus. Ron Paul promises he will close these "illegal prisons" down. He wouldn''t necessarily just release the prisoners either. He said he would simply bring them to detainment facilities on U.S. soil where they would be entitled to an attorney, and to their day in Court--"American Justice." Significant others agree with Paul. "Essentially, we have shaken the belief that the world had in America''s justice system by keeping a place like Guantanamo open and creating things like a military commission," former U.S. Secretary of State, Colin Powell recently said.

- Who cares whether Mukasey believes waterboarding is torture or not? What is so tragically important to realize is the fact that today, as we speak, the US is on the HRW official list of "Countries Who Use Torture" and it will take more than a generation and 3 or 4 Administrations to get it off, if ever. Imagine, a country once heralded all over the world as the beacon of human rights suddenly being on the same list as the Sudan, Egypt, Israel, Pakistan, Syria and the rest. *And* Americans pontificating about how much they love their country and in the same breath saying they don''t give a sh*t what others think of America. How sad!

- DEMONIC-RATS NEVER LEARN AS THEY REWARD THE GRASSHOPPER AND TAX THE ANT
The Ant and the Grasshopper
In a field one summer''s day a Grasshopper was hopping about, chirping and singing to its heart''s content. An Ant passed by, bearing along with great toil an ear of corn he was taking to the nest.
"Why not come and chat with me," said the Grasshopper, "instead of toiling and moiling in that way?"
"I am helping to lay up food for the winter," said the Ant, "and recommend you to do the same."
"Why bother about winter?" said the Grasshopper; we have got plenty of food at present." But the Ant went on its way and continued its toil. When the winter came the Grasshopper had no food and found itself dying of hunger, while it saw the ants distributing every day corn and grain from the stores they had collected in the summer. Then the Grasshopper knew:
It is best to prepare for the days of necessity.

- Fellow Americans, do not allow yourselves to be registered with a political party which has openly committed treason against our great nation. Instead, let us stand together as millions of Independent voters and if elections are ever held again, vote only for those who promise to immediately restore The Constitution of the United States of America to this land.
Or you will soon find yourselves in the same position as the citizens of Pakistan ...

- The Democratic Party has just given its full and unequivocal support to Bush''s new lawless police state.
Anyone in the Democratic or Republican Parties that still considers themselves an American, who still believes in the ideals of our founding fathers, and are abhorred by extra judicial abduction, indefinite incarceration in secret prisons without charge or representation, the torture and murder of prisoners, and the universal surveillance of our citizens, now has a clear patriotic duty as an American citizen to immediately abandon those failed parties and register as a non-affiliated voter.
If the bases of these parties evaporate almost overnight, along with the financial donations they generate, perhaps, just perhaps, we may restore our Constitution and the rule of law it embraces without bloodshed.

Maybe instead of Guantanamo, we could place the terrorists in the homes of some of their liberal moonbat supporters.
I''''m sure both parties would enjoy that one.
And the moonbats could express their sympathy for the terrorists.
That would be well recieved by the terrorists.
And then the terrorists would chop the moonbats'''' head off...
Let''''s do it!

Switching Sides: Inside The Enemy Camp
But then in 2000, well before his arrest, something happened which would make Abas question everything he believed in: a fatwa, a religious edict, was issued by Osama bin Laden.
"It should be understood that killing Americans and Jews anywhere found are the highest act of worship and the highest form of good deeds in the eyes of Allah," Simon quotes bin Laden.
Abas and his fellow commanders were ordered to read the fatwa to their men and make sure they carried it out. The others obeyed, but Abas refused. It was his moment of truth. He firmly believed that jihad was to be fought only on the battlefield in defense of Islam; he had always been taught that the killing of civilians had nothing to do with holy war and that it was forbidden.
The fatwa justified killing non-Muslim civilians everywhere.

- So Mukasey and all these Senators who voted yes took a personal trip to the waterboard and decided that it is not torture, that it only MIMICS torture. Thanks for turning my country into even more of a hypocrite nation.

- One American - as usual, repeat yourself enough and maybe someone will start believing you.
1. As if Bush cared about the Iraqis. He wanted a war and he wanted oil. He invaded under totally and proven false reasons.
2. Under the U.S. Constitution - all people are entitled to due process. This Administration looks at the Constitution as a piece of worthless paper that only gets in their way. Habeous Corpus suspended.
3. Bush has started a western/Christian war with Islam (being blinded by his own born again mentality) that will never end until we learn to keep our imperialist noses out of other country''s business, especially in the Middle East.
4. Bush and principles. That''s an oxymoron. Name one of his principles except that he is so obstinate and spoiled that he would never admit a mistake. He''s as bad as his imagined enemies. One is judged by the company he keeps. Cheney, Rummy, Larry Craig, Wolfie, DeLay, what a fine group of people. We''re $9 trillion in debt and our economy and infrastructure are going down the tubes because he was going to save us from Al Queda. He is the most ruinous person I''ve ever seen.
Good luck supporting this guy when history tells you it''s been the most corrupt and debilitating Presidency in history. - Reply to this comment
