"We didn''t give Kenneth $500,000, and we didn''t take it from our church."

Anyone else catch the slip up in that statement?

"...that''s our opportunity to believe that we can sow into a man of God''s life,..."

And that one? Who sows without expecting to reap?

"And secondly, the one Rolls-Royce that was purchased was purchased by the donors, or the members of the church, and it was a surprise to me. I had no idea they were doing it."

So once you found out, you didn''t tell them to use that money for more worthwhile causes, like helping the needy veterans in their neighborhoods?

I am a Christian and I don''t understand why the media goes after evangelists who happen to reach people by television! These people that do these expose''s on these pastors don''t give their money so why do they care? People are allowed to use their discretionary money however they choose. Why aren''t the reporters doing stories on music artists, movie stars and professional sports players incomes. People use their money to pay to be entertained by these people. I''ve seen tv shows that tour homes of these celebrities and I''ve seen how their money is spent lavishly on houses, cars, pools, jewelry etc. and it seems no one has a problem with that. No where in the Bible does it say that God''s children are to be poor. They are supposed to be blessed and wealthy. Abraham started out a wealthy man and when the children of Israel left Egypt, they were wealthy too!
Maybe if these reporters read the Bible, they''d have an understanding that God owns everything anyway.

I have met several who professed to be such in my lifetime.

The problem is that it''s hard to take seriously an adult who believes in fairy tales.

omded asks some excellent questions.

"So why didn''t God write [the bible]?
geez do you know how long that book is? and it is very hard to get computer support in heaven, so his word processor was crashing a lot, so he just told it to some people he could find who would listen. (of course, think of the sort of people who write books based on voices they hear...)

"Why doesn''t God as least hand out copies to people?"
Easy--god is in the sky. If he dropped them from that height they would hurt people trying to catch them. So he just signed a distribution deal.

"Translation: Ignore the man behind that curtain!!!"
which translation: King Jim or Revived Standard Edition?

"...who are you really talking to - God, or everyone who reads the bulletin board?"
I think it is just campaigning: maybe there is going to be an election and whichever god gets the most votes gets to run things for a while. That explains why having a majority god is so important to christians.

"...who blindly follow idiots just because they carry a bible and are smooth talkers...."

Just like the dumb people who believe everything they read from the media???

Not saying these people are innocent or guilty because I do not know. But you are sure quick to make your judgement based on a story you read by someone you don''t even know. Funny.

Romans 2:6 He will judge everyone according to what they have done.

Let''s see if I have this right. The Bible (otherwise known to many as "holy scripture") is the word of God. So why didn''t God write it? Why doesn''t God as least hand out copies to people?

Religious: Believe the Bible! It''s the word of God! Naysayers are agents of the Devil (aka "Satan")!
Translation: Ignore the man behind that curtain!!!

So, for those of you who pray on this bulletin board, who are you really talking to - God, or everyone who reads the buletin board?

Mercy oh Lord, give a righteous judgment to these men (preachers) of abomination.

Lord, I am sorry I don''t give my tithe. America''s churches are riddled with preachers who exploit the church treasury. Men of greed seem to think that being a minister is profitable business and a solid career. They bath in the lust of wealth and call it a blessing. They build giant church stuctures only to want more. They establish worldwide TV networks to establish there deceit and exploit the ignorant and babes. I pray you for them all, but please to spare a righteous judgement (here on earth and in heaven).
