It''s just so interesting to me how excessive taxing or charging of anything becomes an issue when it directly impacts or furthers anyone in Congress. We also don''t get to vote on the pay raises they give themselves each year, the unlimited terms they are permitted, or the special retirement and healthcare packages that set them above everyone else, but I don''t see any one in Congress all over that.

Where did the money go? Well, let''s see. We''re up to our ears in the war on terrorism so asking that question shows either ignorance on their part, or an attempt to inflame and aggitate just for the heck of it.

Will we see a correction in the situation anytime soon? Not unless Pelosi and Reid pull the sticks out of their a..s..s.es and do something actually beneficial for everyone and not just for themselves and those who think exactly like them...no more no less.

"It''s sort of a tax," Schumer said. "Where did all the money go? What are they going to do to correct it?" Schumer and Dorgan have asked Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to determine whether fees should be lowered. "

Most importantly, how are they going to pay the overcharges back to each passport recipient? I find it amazing that the government can discovered they took too much of our money--but never have to pay it back or even repay it*

* They borrowed BILLIONS from Social Security surplus for years and were supposed to pay it back--but they found out that they liked borrowing it and did not want to pay it back--so now SS is declared "insolvent" and in trouble and they do not return the Billions they stole.

Ya and those same senators, along with the rest of them, collect far more in salary than they''ve ever been worth.

Pot ... kettle ... ya
