Fundamentalist Church Picketed Funeral For Young Leatherneck Killed In Iraq
- All fundamentalist Jesus freaks need to be terminated. With extreme prejudice.
If that was my brother who had died & they had tried that stupid nonsense outside his funeral, they would have been out there for exactly one minute. No way I would have put up with that.
What kind of a person does this kind of thing at a funeral? Why is homosexuality such a big deal to the fundies? Jesus wouldn''t have cared about that.
"But it''s in the Bible & we believe EVERYTHING in the Bible. It''s the holy word of GOD." Blah, blah, blah.
"We are Christians & we are right & you are wrong."
Stick it up your b u t t!
Do intelligent people believe everything in the Bible actually happened? NO.
So we''re left with organized idiots shoving their precious Bible/Christianity down our throats 24-7.
Do we really need organized religion? What good does it do? Anyone know?
Please enlighten me. - Reply to this comment

- I will tell you one thing that worked. They would hang around outside of gay clubs, or any gay events with their cute signs, so the gay community started selling squares in these grids, sort of like the office grids during the world series. You pay a dollar a square for a score and win if that score hits. Well, the *** would sell squares with different lengths of time in them, like 10 hours, 2 days, six hours, a week, etc., guessing how long the Phelps would stay at any give protest. They they would take the money and give it to AIDs research. Worked like a charm. The nuts quit going to those events.

- The better question is how do they maintain their IRS NON PROFIT STATUS? seems to me one avenue of recourse is to protest blitz the IRS and the Baptist church of American head offices and demand an investigation into this "church" and their activities, then urge their non-profit status be YANKED.

They are not sanctioned by the Baptist church. There are plenty of churches with no national affiliation. You can''t pull their tax exempt status because they meet the tax exempt requirement. They are a church. Churches are protected from most laws that any other business, club, organization, municipality, or any other group would have to abide by. They do not lobby for or against any political candidate, and it might surprise everyone to know that they are Democrats. Don''t think that we haven''t tried everything here in Kansas. They have harrassed banks, churches, ballet concerts, everything imaginable. THEY ARE ALL LAWYERS. - Reply to this comment

- Then they upped the stakes a bit by protesting at funeral of gay people that had died. They protested at Mathew Shepards funeral, the young gay man tortured and murdered and hung on a barb wire fence. Of course, they really weren''t getting much attention at gay funerals considering the level of homophobia in this country, so they hit upon their brain child.
Military funerals. Bingo, they go their attention, national, big time. These people are insane, literally. They have a website, "Godhates f a g s.com if you would like more info. - Reply to this comment
- "They turned this funeral into a media circus and they wanted to hurt my family," Snyder testified Wednesday. "They wanted their message heard and they didn''t care who they stepped over. My son should have been buried with dignity, not with a bunch of clowns outside."

The Wesboro Baptist Church is run by the Phelps family. Fred, the patriarch had I don''t know how many kids, most of them attorneys. He lost his license to practice law because he is insane, so he started this church. The family are the only members. About fifty, I think. They have been a big joke in Kansas for years. They would protest every event in Topeka with their, "God Hates F a g s Signs"
If anyone took exception to their goofiness, they would fall down, and then sue the person for injury. That is how they support the church, law suits. Remember I told you they were all lawyers. - Reply to this comment
