The conditional probability of dying by taser is MUCH MUCH greater than 1:1000000.

My point is, "If tasers are outlawed, then Billie clubs rule" I personally am capable of making every stroke of a club, kill. The hard part is "Hitting and not killing"

ToolMangler,

If one of these Taser killing victims was your grandchild, what death-rate from these torture devices would you consider to be acceptable?

Tasers are perfectly safe! Well, not "perfectly". The only side effect is the occasional DEATH, but other than that, they''re great!

Hey, this is only 2007, we''re nowhere NEAR advanced enough as a society to think of anything more high-tech than pumping electricity through someone''s body as a method of subduing them. Not a chance. That''s even more out there than space travel! Heck, we can''t even figure out how to get to the bottom of the ocean yet!

If you want to put me down, get the statisics based on the number of ''Tazes'' per death'' (How many times were they used divided by how many died)

Is that the best you can do? I took the statistics straight up. maybe you aren''t seeing it the same way I do.

Nearly 300 Americans have been killed by Taser-related injuries. I would say that this qualifies as a "lasting effect".

As there are Approximately 300 million people in America, that makes the odds of dying from a taser one in a million,

Re: "The problem is that after the introduction of the Taser, the number of shootings/clubbing/beatings did NOT decrease, they merely added another form of force."

Yet another excellent point from ''Nancy_Naive''.

Hello ''Prinzowhales'',

Re: "The people who applauded the torture of that young man are beneath contempt...these are the kind of liberals who are comfortable with mass murder as long as it doesn''''t intrude too much into their lives...they would be comfortable with a relatively eloquent and urbane doofus, John Kerry, as opposed to that thing that crawled out of the arse of Texas,... The Third Reich was built by such people."

Very sad, and very true.

Over two hundred people have lost their lives thanks to the taser. It is a deadly weapon and is much abused. If the State of Florida can justify this kind of action then it is time for the people of Florida to realize that the FDLE is their enemy. As a former policeman, who has dealt with situations similiar to this in the past, I can see no justification for this kind of attack on a citizen for taking 30 seconds too long at a microphone in a public meeting-- though there are instances ''a plenty where forceful action is more than justified.

Mussolini or one of his associates, I believe it was, once remarked that ''a fascist is only a scared liberal''...The people who applauded the torture of that young man are beneath contempt...these are the kind of liberals who are comfortable with mass murder as long as it doesn''t intrude too much into their lives...they would be comfortable with a relatively eloquent and urbane doofus, John Kerry, as opposed to that thing that crawled out of the arse of Texas, George Bush. If a new 9-11 were perpetrated against the people of the United States and a John Kerry proclaimed himselF, ''il doofus'', they wouldn''t bat an eye. The Third Reich was built by such people.

bm6005,

Re: "Kerry had nothing to do with this..."

Sure he did. He stood there and made idiotic comments, while allowing it to happen. Not much of a leader at all.

Re: "Acting like a jackazz, you deserve to be tasered."

You sound like a goose-stepping fascist with this comment.

Re: "Except in extremely rare cases it has no lasting effect."

Re: "If you don''''t want a lasting effect shut the f*k up when directed to by a police official."

Sieg Heil!!!

Re: "And believe me I''m no fan of the police in general but at least I know to keep my big mouth shut!"

You are clearly an asset to Der Homeland.

John Kerry, radical student activist in his own youth, is now getting students tazerd. The irony is rich.

Too bad your an idiot! Kerry had nothing to do with this, even boosh had nothing to do with this. If you want to live in a civilized society then you must exercise some common sense restraint. Acting like a jackazz, you deserve to be tasered. Except in extremely rare cases it has no lasting effect. If you don''t want a lasting effect shut the f*k up when directed to by a police official. And believe me I''m no fan of the police in general but at least I know to keep my big mouth shut!

a liberal question to a liberal politician at a liberal forum

And liberals want to blame Bush !?!?!?!

BwaHahahahahahahahaha
Oh God, Oh God, can''t breathe, can''t breathe.

It WAS NOT the Bush administration who came up
with the concept of "political correctness"

crzmeat, you have proved my point. thanks. I have the same information available to me as you do. Read it and find out for yourself. You haven''t even read/seen any reports about this. If you don''t want to educate yourself about the topic, then don''t post! The whole thing was staged event.

The guy was tasered for being a jockster. My goodness, what progress we are making in America. Now police can taser you if they don''t like your style.
They''re not too far from tasering you for not saying "hi" to them.

Yeah uh huh, just like when Bush reviewed his order to spy on Americans without a warrant, during an election year I might add, an act many believed was a high crime but he too believes that his review of his actions against America and the Constitution was legal and appropriate and just wants that pesky immunity for those involved for kicks and grins. Or could he be lying again stalling obstructing cause it was a high crime he ordered and by demanding immunity for a supposed non crime, he really trying to remove any incentive a Prosecutor could leverage to gain Telecom Representative Testimony when this comes before the courts once the rule of law is resorted to this country and the Department of Justice and they need to cooperate.
