And the insurance companies are already trying to figure out how to get out of this one.

They''ll claim that the damage and destruction was really caused by the water sprayed on the fire and is therefore a flood, so they don''t have to pay.........and Bush will back them completely......for a "contribution" to his library in Texas of course...the corrupt little puke......

They must be running low on retardants.

I fully support grinding him up and spraying him on the fire. It''ll be the only way he can help us here.

These fires are out of control and getting worse. This will make Katrina look like a walk in the park. I do have to say, as a dyed in the wool liberal Democrat, that Arnie is doing a fantastic job in the face of this disaster! He is showing real strength, true leadership and competence that, thanks to Bush, is not reflected in our Federal government.

Hello;
Is ROME burning? I remember the old saying....ALL THAT GLITTERS... is NOT gold! With my MONEY, I can show off all I want. Are you IMPRESSED?

Frankly, I DON''T feel sorry for all those RICH folks. With their MONEY.... they can ALWAYS buy as MANY homes as they want. Just make another motion picture... and MONEY will come easy.

Well, if ALL THAT GLITTERS is NOT Gold, then it must be ASHES, heart ache, inconvinience, and SURPRISE!

They must have MISSED going to Church on Sundays. The BIBLE says that, "If you don''t ACKNOWLEDGE ME on this earth, I WON''T ACKNOWLEDGE you in front of my FATHER."

He might have added..." I will send in the Santa Ana winds, if THAT doesn''t work.

Did JESUS say that?

"Pride cometh before the fall."

Isn''t it true?

Thanks,

As a concerned citizen I strong urge those who live in areas prone to recurrent fires, to consider relocating somewhere else. Just a thought.

Every year California goes through floods and fires, the floods generally come first and then the fires later in the year. One would think that with the fire''s recurring in the general area and the floods like wise that they would be able to capture the "flood" waters into "holding tanks" with piping to the areas where the fires generally occur, eliminating in theory the severity of the fire.

wow if we were to build houses in only safe places... we would have none. in the middle of america there are tornadoes and such, in the east extreme cold and storms, in the west extreme heat which dries up our envirenment leading it to be extremely dry. its just bad weather becuase we havent had rain in awhile, atleast rain that put us on the charts
so is it really the peoples fault for building their homes on land?

Whomever here thinks that large forest fires are a result of global warming must have a kindergarten level education. The reason why the fires get bigger as the US progresses through existence is due to fire protection. Mankind has found ways to prevent fires for much longer than they were intended to be protected. A forest undergoes a normal natural cycle of growth, fire (death), and new growth every fifty or so years. But when you tweak with that like mankind has, the levels of fuel (or burnable material like wood) builds up and up, and once a spark flies, the whole thing lights up, and there is little that can be done to stop it.
It''s not because of global warming. Yes, the region is drier because of climate change, but it is because of large thick forests that the fire is uncontrollable.

Will George Bush, FEMA, etc, react a lot quicker to rich white folks mansions burning in Malibu than they did to poor black folks homes drowning in New Orleans? I''d bet on it.
Will we see TV news stories of masses of white people wallowing in their own filth in QualComm Stadium for three days? I wouldn''t bet on that...

I don''t get it. Numbnuts build their houses in areas that have periodically burned for who knows...millions of years? And when the big burn comes it''s a catastrophe!! Millions of tax payers are expected to pay for their greediness. Someone please explain the fairness in this. **** on these people... They gambled and lost. Life''s a *** then your mansion burns down. Tell it to the chaplain!!

While I feel for the families, I happen to agree a bit with twixcon. If you build a house in a disaster prone area, whether it be a huricane ravenged coast or a forest fire prone area, you are taking that risk. It shouldn''t come as a supprise that you have to rebuild these areas every 5 years or so. If you are willing to accept this risk on your own, enjoy the view. Otherwise, don''t ask the taxpayers to bail you out and people to risk their lives.

I believe in global warming, but I don''t think this is a result of it. From what I know warming should increase ocean temps leading to increased rain in coastal areas. However, to somehow blame the people who live in the area is way more stupid. Jealousy is not a reason to wish someone such grief. Anyone who thinks this is good is outstandingly selfish.

rangerdahl,,,, I wasn''t watching it, I''ll rather read it on MSNBC,,,,, Our military is doing a fine job & they aren''t waiting for Bush to give the orders this time. I''m familiar with Dan Abrams, so I doubt the way you spin it.... He''s usually going off on liberals

Excuse my spelling,,, We''ve had a continued drought for decades, Santa Ana winds, developement, with less attention to emergency services & ecological resorces doesn''t help, it makes things worst ---- But, too many like xzavierbrown would rather ignore it for tax cuts, idiaology & politics.

xzavierbrown,,,, Can''t stop you political rhetoric can you ??? You claim to live in L.A. & you don''t have a clue of the continued draught we''ve had in California for decades..... You are the typical un-patriotic American that allows these disasters & war failures to go on -- Just for politics
