I wonder which pastor will come on the air first and say California deserved this because of how much sin is out there.

I meant Hollywood, the city, not the general area. The city is but a small square on the LA map, just beneath the Hollywood sign. Many world class, but yet "undiscovered" artists lived in homes on the tree lined streets of Fountain Ave., near Vine street. A wave of condo conversions leveled the area, turning them into office rows, and later small very expensive apartments. All the greenery was sacrificed, now the place is manicured to the point of artificiality, no place for the fire to go.

They"re actually refereeing a civil war. Iraq is a civil war by any dictionary"s definition of the term.

[It"s bad enough that the Bush administration has tried to rewrite the Constitution, We aren"t going to let them try to rewrite the dictionary.]

"Poll: U.S. public questions policy

Wed October 24, 2007

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Fewer Americans think the United States is adequately thwarting terrorists, meeting its objectives in Iraq or achieving other goals overseas, according to a poll that shows a deepening skepticism about the country"s foreign policy.

The survey also shows people in the United States have flagging hopes that a range of strategies and policies, from improving intelligence operations to showing more respect for other countries, can do very much to keep the nation safe.

The poll also showed little taste for a military confrontation with Iran. Sixty-five percent said they preferred economic or diplomatic moves against Iran, compared to 19 percent who favored military action or threats."

I remember Bush"s initial response to Katrina: that great photo op where he rushed down to check on the condition of Trent Lott"s porch.

"Out of the rubbles [sic] of Trent Lott"s house -- he''s lost his entire house -- there"s going to be a fantastic house. And I"m looking forward to sitting on the porch... Again, I want to thank you all for -- and, Brownie, you"re doing a heck of a job. The FEMA Director is working 24 -- (applause) -- they''re working 24 hours a day."
- George W*anker Bush, September 2, 2005 (*)

The following year Bush lost his entire House. And Senate.

Out of the rubbles of his legacy the GOP will lose the Whitehouse in 2008, and for a long long time.

Actually I am a member in good standing of the literati.

Ayn Rand is on my winter reading list, with Dostoevsky, Tolstoy, Cervantes, Stendhal, Flaubert, Mann and Proust.

OK, that"s enough name dropping.

Now... President Bush is asking for $46Billion fund for the war... How in the world would he be able to assist the Southern CA?! He is just bringing our $1.00 bill value down way deep in the hole like maybe, $5,000 value for each $1.00 bill we have.

***I was meaning $5,000 in negative value.
