dmhphils.....I also believe this article is against God''s commands, but I also have to keep in mind
I peter 3:15 when dealing with people, otherwise I know I will make them defensive and will have then lost their ear completely. I also have to try to keep in my mind that those of the world think like the world, for they are blind to the scriptures. Rev. 3:17

So we are supposed to believe that a school board that advocates "safe-sxxx for 11 year olds" is good for the community? Can you honestly say that you are happy as a parent that your school board has made it "safe" for your child to have sxxx if he so desires? You''re really happy about that?

dmhphils-

I hate to shatter your world, But I am a moral, upstanding individual. I also subscribe to science, rather than fairy tales.

If you get a warm fuzzy believeing that morality can only be achieved through religion, go right ahead. But I''ll tell you right now that you are dead wrong.

Good night all. As always, a pleasure.

WITH A HAND MAGNIFIER..I WENT TO SP ED AND THE TEACHER WOULD NOT TEACH A LEGALLY BLIND GIRL AS i WAS THE ONLY ONE,I AM 53..I say stop being yer child''s friend, they are so out of control that they boss their Mum aground in public. when i was growing up I was told to mind but yer too busy to be parents and so it falls in the school''s lap, I have family there in the schools. Their parents better put some common sense their heads.

I''''m sorry, but this is most definitely a spiritual issue and now we know where you stand and how you can abide your double-standard.

Posted by dmhphils at 12:04 AM : Oct 19, 2007

What double standard? The religious always claim exclusivity to morality in the face of priest-pedophiles, Jimmy Swaggart, Jim Bakker, the preacher doing meth and male prostitutes, on and on.

Get real.

This isn''''t about spirituality, it''''s about morality. I can tell that you are one of those who think morality is exclusive to the religious. You''''re dead wrong.

Compassion would not want to leave an eleven year old pregnant girl mired in the same life-style as what precipitated her condition by giving her pills so she can just keep on having sxxx. The root of the problem is sexual promiscuity.....you cannot deal with the root by giving it pills and rubbers....you will only encourage, not only her, but how many other 11 year olds to do the same.

Thank goodness for the girls that the school board has more common sense than you apparently do.has m

sahia-

I frankly can not understand why you would oppose this help for girls who obviously need it. They are not going to stop having *** just because someone says not to once they have crossed that line. You appear to be incredibly naive.

I would never want to see any children abandoned. That is why I try my best to teach them what is right. If one of my teachers had said, here are some pills, just in case, my life may have been a lot different.(not in a good way) I would hope a teacher would step in where a parent isn''t and teach them that it isn''t right to have *** at 11 instead of handing them pills. 11 year olds aren''t even done maturing, physically, what are those hormones going to do to their bodies? When they get older, don''t you think when they look back and have the wisdom to understand the dangers they will say, "I wish someone had told me not to".

This whole issue only serves to illuminate the lack of spiritual upbringing, not only with the children but parents as well, in our society.

So, for not receiving the parenting they deserve, we should punish these girls by allowing them to become pregnant at 11 as you prefer.

Not me. I say save them from at least that much for not having parents worth a $%^&.

This whole issue only serves to illuminate the lack of spiritual upbringing, not only with the children but parents as well, in our society. What kids need to receive from the home and from spiritual advisers as well that would provide direction for their lives in all areas, they don''t get. Therefore, there is a breakdown in the family structure. We need to fix the entire organism, not just give it a pill or a rubber, and say, "well, its not your fault." That''s a cop-out on responsibility. When you begin to tell kids that what they are doing is not only against social laws but it is against God''s laws too and you will reap destruction from it, they may very well listen, afterall, all they have enough bad examples already don''t they?

sahia,
As I stated earlier, when you see a pregnant 11 year-old on the playground, just remember your position that all is as it should be.

Former Marine Corp. Sergeant.....Given that an 11 year old would probably not use the birth control properly or not use it at all if they didn''t want it to "ruin the moment" (as many teenagers say), I think I would still see a lot of pregnant 11 year olds, and a lot more with Aids, also. I think that giving them birth control would just give them permission to have ***.....period.

I have four daughters, three of which are in the very age group or older that this article addresses and I have worked with 6th through 12th graders for the past 10 years. I''''m not naive in any sense of the word of what they are faced with in this world.

Then I am even more amazed that you would wish to see these girls of worthless parents abandoned completely.

I have no doubt that I will see pregnant 11 year olds, but how many less will I see if I tell them the dangers of engaging in *** instead of handing them birth control and hoping for the best. I can see no good in that. My concern for these kids is not so much pregnancy (though it is a concern) it is more about diseases. The pill does not protect against diseases in any way. I digress, my whole problem with this article has more to do with the amount of control we give to the schools in handling our kids. I just hope that by my comments about the obvious, I may help one parent see things a different way. I have four daughters, three of which are in the very age group or older that this article addresses and I have worked with 6th through 12th graders for the past 10 years. I''m not naive in any sense of the word of what they are faced with in this world.
