Comments on: Key Dems Pull Support For Genocide Bill
House Bill To Condemn Armenian Genocide In Jeopardy
- badaxmofo and others have tried to say that the "Iraq Liberation Act of 1998," which specifically prohibited the use of U.S. Armed Forces, as a legal justification for Bush"s invasion of Iraq.
What a crock.
That Act only allowed training and support for Iraqi resistance forces, and said that the cost for that effort could not exceed $97 million ["m" as in "Mary" - million.]
I wonder how long that paltry sum would last, in financing an invasion of Iraq by 140,000 troops, with air and naval support, 10,000 kilometers away from American shores. - Reply to this comment
- 40 of our states have recognized it as genocide.

So have 22 other countries. Face it, they were just looking for a reason to invade - any reason at all. - Reply to this comment

Did most Democrats in Congress vote in favor of the war in 2002 ? I know most Republicans in Congress did, da*mned near unanimously, but did most Democrats ?
I"ll give you the answer, if you"re stumped.
Here"s a great quote, by the way:
"[W]e urge you, after consulting with Congress, and consistent with the U.S. Constitution and laws, to take necessary actions (including, if appropriate, air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites) to respond effectively to the threat posed by Iraq''s refusal to end its weapons of mass destruction programs." - Letter to President Clinto, by Senators Carl Levin, Tom Daschle, John Kerry, others, Oct. 9, 1998
They wanted a cautious approach involving AT MOST "air and missile strikes." - Reply to this comment

- "A poodle skirt is a wide swing skirt worn with layers of petticoats underneath, often on its own (worn with a cardigan) or sometimes as part of a dress. It was a fashion of the 1950s, most notably 1955, popular with young women and teenage girls of the "Silent Generation." The name "poodle" comes from the applique''''d motif, which is most often remembered as a poodle but could have been any other animal, such as a flamingo, or another object such as ice-cream. The fad eventually faded away after a few years."

- How about Valerie Plame lying that Wilson was never on her tongue to send over to Niger to discredit Bush? How about Wilson lying that he wasn''''t the one that outed her. How about your Dimnowit Congress giving these two liars full time on the Hill to hold their bully trials? Clean the c/rap in your own diapers first.

1. Iraq
2. The failure in the war on terror to eliminate al Qaeda and / or capture bin Laden
3. Our disastrous foreign policy in dealing with nations like Venezuela, Syria, North Korea, Sudan, Iran, Russia, and many others.
4. Gutting funding for the Consumer product Safety Commission. (The number of foreign import inspectors was cut from 17 to 1, and we wonder why China is shipping in so many dangerous products.)
5. Gutting funding for the Department of the Interior, forcing them to sell almost 300,000 acres of national forest and park lands to stay solvent in 2005.
6. The SCHIP veto.
7. All of the policies trying to privatize the entire federal government, including hiring a mercenary army and basically calling for the elimination of Social Security.

Hey Radiob I believe this happened in 1915 and the congress brings it up every year to condemn the genocide. Turkey obviously doesn''t like it. They have leverage in this as we need Turkey''s border to bring supplies to the troops etc. They(Turkey) do not like the pkk in Iraq in the Kurdish part of Iraq, and have been complaining about striking them and we kept them from that until this resolution, they are furious and are about to pass a resolution to attack the Kurds. - Reply to this comment
