my understanding of this one is clear...(let us remove the race item here)

beating someone to a pulp is against the law..and sad enough, people who express things such as hanging a noose or calling people crackers is protected by our constitution.

I thought all crimes were committed out of hate...

I fail to see the relevence of "hate" crimes. Sounds like a politically correct way of distributing prejudice.

So, who hated more? The whites that hung the noose or the blacks that committed the assault and almost killed that boy?

Thank you Wf98 for your response. If you look a little closer at my comments, you may see that i don''t know that the beating WOULD have been prevented. If the noose was connected to the one who was beaten, and he had been prosecuted, the beating COULD have been prevented. I don''t know that the beaten young man was connected to the noose. I believe that the beating was definetly assault, and there is still no excuse, no matter what caused these young men to believe they had to beat another. I also didn''t say that the beating was racially motivated, i just stated what i thought IF it had been. I also wasn''t jumping on anyone''s bandwagon, i am simply stating my thoughts. I am very open to discussion if someone disagrees with what i think. I encourage everyone to look at ANY definition of a hate crime, and then tell me that hanging a noose with any intent towards another group is not a hate crime. Maybe we can compare personal definitions of hate crime?

Great, all the politically correct loonies tunes are out today. This is all this race baitor needs. Yeah, let''s expand hate crimes because the 14th Amendment doesn''t explain it good enough.
