Lawmakers Blast Federal Officials For Failing To Respond To Noose-Hanging Incident
- However, what I''m witnessing is hordes of young black males belligerently menacing neighborhoods complaining about not having a job, but won''t make the effort to seek skilled training, college, vocational trade, etc., instead they take out their frustration on others within their communities, like the "Jena Six".
I see hordes of young single-black mothers with two or more children barely able to take care of themselves not to mention children that are hungry, unbathed, dirty clothes, etc., in which these children are predisposed to environmental degradation which they will undoubtedly grow up to be menacing predators continuing the problem of black self-degradation.
Unfortunately, I see few black leaders addressing these issues, which are "hard-pressed" within black communities, unlike this minuscule racial issue...
My argument lies with black folks, why do you continue to give racists white folks ammunition to castigate and degrade, as oppose to "introspecting" and changing individually, as a group.
The "Jena Six" incident should have been a wake up call for blacks, but instead it has been fuel to further regress into the "racism diatribe"

- "The real issue that DOJ should be looking into here is eqaul protection under the law as it pertains to the disparity in assault charges, prosecution, and sentencing."
HAH!! That''s hysterical - to tout the concept of ''equal protection under the law'' while also espousing ''hate crime'' legislation - an absolute unmitigated contradiction... what''s more - you talk about how they can possibly charge white people w/ hate crimes, but don''t even contemplate how they should charge those black kids with hate crimes... again, hyprocisy runs rampant - and that''s what people are fed up with...
To your point though, IF it''s true that they caught white kids doing the exact same thing & charged them with much lesser offenses... I agree, they should be charge equally - you see, I can see beyond race towards a truly equal sense of justice... unlike you. I''m guessing though that like most anything on this issue, you''re probably leaving out some massive variable/s that would totally differentiate the two cases - but that remains to be seen. - Reply to this comment
- "Today civil rights activist Al Sharpton said he believes it''s a sign of a resurgence of racism in America."
First of all... that''s precisely what bigots like Sharpton & Jackson WANT... after all, that''s how they make their living. Second, if that''s true, it''s the fault of people LIKE Sharpton & Jackson who have over played the race card SO much that people are just plain fed up w/ the whole victim mentality, sense of entitlement, and utter derth of accountability that they have helped to promote from within the black community...
BTW - is it me, or has EVERYone forgotten the fact that these Jena 6 violently ganged up on & beat another person... Displaying nooses might offend sensibilities - in fact, that''s precidsly WHY it was done... but it''s not illegal like beating another person... - Reply to this comment
- xzaviorbrown,
Since you think affirmative action gives blacks more rights than whites, when will you be signing up for the reverse Micheal Jackson skin graft to become a pampered African-American?
newster,
The black student provoked the poor little white kids by sitting under the whites-only tree. I guess you think that Rosa Parks was the first terrorist. Go back to the last century and stay there Klan Boy!
bigsk8fan,
Doesn''t strike you as odd that they "couldn''t find a way" to charge the white kids for assault but they could find a way to charge the black kids for the same *** thing? The real issue that DOJ should be looking into here is eqaul protection under the law as it pertains to the disparity in assault charges, prosecution, and sentnecing. - Reply to this comment
- It is totally deplorable that nooses were hung under a tree where it was know that only whites congrate. I would hope we would NEVER go back to a white/black only area of any sort. Water fountains, bathrooms, neighbourhoods, & GANGS.
However, I find it even MORE schocking that blacks feel the six who brutally kicked the individual on the ground did not deserve at least lip service for their crime too. It could be that the media did not report this aspect, same on them if it is the case.
Either way, the lack of condemnation on BOTH acts by the NAACP is a racial deviding act in and of itself. I specifically mention the NAACP, because by condemming the kicking of the individual they would reduce the ire of whites that feel the NAACP doesn''t care about people, they only care about colored people. This in itself could be part of the problem.
Maybe it is time for the NAACP to change its name and charter to reflect Martin Luther King''s message to the world. I suspect many whites would join in your numbers.

- Let the States handle their own matters. We don''t need more race baiting from the likes of Sharpton and Jackson Lee. Shoo!

- of the 9 white kids who beat up the black kid, was this one white kid who was eventually involved in getting beat up by the black kids. this white kid taunted the black kids. but for reed walters, he can only see wrong doing when it is done by blacks. that is what this whole issue is about. disparate application of justice.

- some kids here in sw indiana set a cross on fire at the rr crossing when the school bus stopped at the track. the bus was carring black kids from a black school in evansville.. the state did not have a law to stop them because it happened on private property.some how the feds got involved and the 2 boys were prosecuted..

don''t know indiana laws. but in michigan, setting a cross on fire in front of a bus load of blacks would certainly qualify for the "racial hate" crime status.
the problem with the jena 6 case is not that the black kids beating up the white kid is ok because they are black. here the la prosecutor, reed walters, could not figure out how to charge for the hate crime involving the hanging of nooses clearly designed to inflame blacks at the high school. reed walters also could not figure out how to charge 9 white kids who beat up a black kid earlier. in fact, only 1 of these white kids was charge and then only for a misdemeanor as a minor. all the black kids in the jena 6 were charged initially with felonies and as adults (in a similar fight situation). additionally, of the 9 white kids who beat up the black kid, was this one white kid who was eventually involved in getting beat up by the black kids. this white kid taunted the black kids. but for reed walters, he can only see wrong doing when it is done by blacks. that is what this whole issue is about. disparate application of justice. - Reply to this comment
- And the first thing racists whites do is complain about blacks demanding equal treatment! Go back to your coffin, Vampire!

if we can only put into law "earning the right to equality" then all these racist whites would not have any reason to whine. but it is not that easy..
btw..with affirmative action guarantees more rights for blacks than anybody else.. - Reply to this comment
