14-Year-Old Who Felt Bullied Amassed Guns, Knives And Grenades For Possible School Attack
- Just so you all don''t think I am trying to be a goody-two-shoes here, during my second year of high school a freind and I started experimenting with chemistry and learned a great many things (one of them was what NOT to do with chemicals) We made many different compounds and tried them out (sometimes). We made a little concoction called Ammonium Tri-iodide. once it was finished, we tried it out and it worked. (blew up). we found that if you allowed it to almost dry out, it would explode like a firecracker. Having satisfied ourselves that we "KNEW" what we were doing, he and I took a bottle to school and being carefull not to be seen, spread it on the hall floors. Then we moved to a vantage point for a good look at the goings on and laughed ourselves sick at the bewilderment of our subjects. Nobody could move without myriads of small explosions under their feet. In retrospect, we were stupid (teenagers) but the main thing is back then we intended that no one should get hurt. We did other things that were dangerouse also but GOD knew we were to stupid for our own good and we didn''t hurt ourselves or anyone else. In todays society we would have been tracked down at GREAT expense and jailed for the larger parts of our lives. the funny thing is we were good boys, really....

- An attack with a 9mm and no bullets. Probably the swords are pocket knives. A book that probably came from the library. Tubes filled with bb''s, how are bb''s packaged? This is not news.

- Wow, so many of you are judge, jury and executioner. The photo I saw was 9mm handgun, NOT an assault rifle. That was the only real weapon. Allegedly his mother "gave" him the handgun. But so many of you''ve already tried her, and the kid, although this is America. Don''t ya think you ought to keep your knee from jerking and at least wait to hear from her, and for court proceedings? Guilty until proven innocent, is it?

Installation of metal detectors and guards with body wands at all main enterances (knives and/or other metal devices such as bombs may also be found using metal detectors).
Prep-talks and observe those students closely that may have the characteristics of uh: appearing dirsturbingly Gothic, EMO, those simply "acting" out of place, such as isolated kids, picked on kids, bullies, excessive worriers, threat makers, or those with emotional & other social problems.
Drills for the students for the possibility of student invasion (Violence Prevention Training).
Conduct random locker and physical body searches for suspected students.

So far you have named/charatorised every kid in the school. What are you advocating? Treat schools as prisons. Kids have enough problems as it is! They don''t need what your talking about, and I don''t have the answers either, but thats not it.- Reply to this comment
- As a policy maker concerned with the prevention of high school shootings, I would administer the following:
Installation of metal detectors and guards with body wands at all main enterances (knives and/or other metal devices such as bombs may also be found using metal detectors).
Prep-talks and observe those students closely that may have the characteristics of uh: appearing dirsturbingly Gothic, EMO, those simply "acting" out of place, such as isolated kids, picked on kids, bullies, excessive worriers, threat makers, or those with emotional & other social problems.

I agree with you, for the most part. I am a 2nd Amendment Democrat -- or more accurately, a constitutionally inclined American. But I don''t agree with you that it is the "liberal" media. Last I looked all the corporate media boards of directors, including CBS, are shock full of rich-arse Republicans, and those with NO true national loyalty at all, and get off driving wedges between Americans. Stop with the "liberal" media stuff already! - Reply to this comment

- And also, crzmeat they don''t want to hurt the kids egos, that all kids, no matter what/how they do in sports/spelling bees, or whatever, kids get trophies. Of course, unless they''re in some kind of league, then they don''t. But in regular school, they all get recognized as being special, when they''re not.

- Please pay attention. Those are air rifles. B-B guns. Not an arsenal. Not real AKs, or anything. B-B guns.

- I think it''s really great that a 14-year-old could come up with an arsenal of weapons like that in such a short period of time.
It''s inspirational. - Reply to this comment

Hey, she isn''t single. Married woman, I didn''t go into details, I''m friends with the entire family, but I did notice the change in the the kids, when they went from home schooled, to public school. In fact the oldest was being bullied by other kids that didn''t speak english. By spanish, or Mexican kids. Thats the truth! Maybe thats the problem! - Reply to this comment

I have a friend, that used to home school their children, when we first met. They have two boys, and were 4 and 9 at the time. Those two kids were well behaved and I used to play chess with the oldest one. However as their situation changed, she had to stop home schooling them, and she started them public schools. And in that time, they have become more disrespectful, self centered, and really not a joy to be around. I blame the public schools for that. And I hate to say it, but they have become brats, so whats wrong with our schools? - Reply to this comment
- My Brother home sckooled his children an there a disaster jail thieves and unwed mothers don''t get me wrong there good kids just looking for acceptance. Home schooling is a joke do you really want someone that barely got a GED teaching your children. The children seriously lack the proper social skills to deal with the rest of us,
