Comments on: O'Reilly's Take On Harlem Eatery Stirs Pot
Fox News Host Says Sylvia's Is Same As Any Other Restaurant "Even Though It's Run By Blacks"
- Billo just doesn''t have the smarts for doing political commentary. But then, his fan-base is likewise lacking in intelligence. Fox is just fine with that, they''re making money from race luddites.
His after-the-fact explanation for himself is just more racist crapp. His highly bigotted defenders here prove a public personality should NEVER talk racist, or it automatically gives more ammunition to idiot racists.

- There are black intellectuals that are often overshadowed by those that feed into the negative stereotypes, those inventors, doctors, lawyers, educators, researchers, chemists, biologists, nuclear physicists, etc., who have taken a "backseat" to these moronic individuals, like the Micheal Vick''s, O.J. Simpson''s, R Kelly''s, Pac-man Jones'', etc.
I think what O''Reilly was trying to convey to "white folks" stop associating the actions of some, the "deductive" to the actions of all, the "inductive", because the black race is very diverse, fluid, and dynamic, of which all blacks are not apart of a monolithic schema... - Reply to this comment

Funny - tack on Restaurant Owners & Patrons and you just said PRECISELY what Bill O''Reilly said... - Reply to this comment
- "He would gain so much more respect if he''''d just man-up and admit that his words were glaringly inappropriate"
Oh please... like the other poster noted, watch the ACTUAL video for YOURSELVES so you can see precisely what happened. My God, even when a conservative states that such stereotypes are misguided & cites a specific example from his own experience illustrating why that''s the case - liberals cry racism. It''s cases like this, the OJ trial, and the Duke Rape allegations that have proven to me that the racism card is so grotesquely overblown it''s veritably dismissable anymore. It''s just a way for liberals to feel all giddy about themselves while they keep their black pets pent up in a cycle of excuses, victim culture, and dependency...
O''Reilly was right - wake UP Black America! Get OFF that liberal train to nowhere w/ the Jesse Jacksons & Al Sharptons of this world... stand up & do for yourSELVES - we conservatives believe you are capable while your liberal caretakers think otherwise... - Reply to this comment
"Coached into a compliment"
Re-read this paragraph, "O''Reilly contrasted his experience at the restaurant with the image "white America" has of a black culture "dominated by Twista, Ludacris and Snoop Dogg."
This says it all.....
I don''t care for O''Reilly, but even an "AS[S]HOLE", can speak a "breathe of wisdom", every now and then.
He was calling attention to those "white folks" that stereotype and lump "ALL" blacks in to this monolithic paradigm as mirroring the negativity within black culture, the snoop dog''s, 50 cent''s, twista''s, NWA''s, gangbanger''s, drive-by shooter''s, drug dealer''s, the single-mother with 5+ kids, different and absentee father''s, the high-school dropouts, etc. etc. etc.- Reply to this comment
- Keenon Ivory Wayans, who came to light when he produced the television comedy variety show %u201CIn Living Color%u201D in the 1990s, has produced and starred in several well-known movies with his three brothers (Shawn, Marlon and Damon), including %u201CWhite Chicks," "Little Man," %u201CI%u2019m Gonna Get You, Sucka,%u201D and "Scary Movie," the most financially successful feature ever directed by an African American.
Now where do those stereotypes come from again? - Reply to this comment

He was focusing on "white folks" negative unsupported biases towards blacks, as a whole, and their inability to view them individually other than this monolithic perception.
Unfortunately, there are a lot of snoop dogs, gangbangers, single-mothers with multiple offspring and no male present, drug dealers, drive-by shooters, high-school dropouts, parasite black folks that have degraded black communities.
Just as there are decent, upstanding, hard-working, intelligent, studious, college-educated, entrepreneurs, etc., etc,. etc., black folks that are often "over-shadowed" by the negative blacks within their communities.
The negative black folks that psychologically, financially, and emotionally drain black communities of human-potentiality, now I know some black folks dare not speak of this publicly, but, however, it is a fact.

- I am not the least bit surprised by his comments. I think his beliefs are shared by many.
It is very unfortunate that he believes that all African Americans are ghetto and are unable to act in a respectable manner in public places.
We as African Americans live in a white society. We work for white corporations, with white bosses and employees and are often the only African Americans in the company.
Our success as people is dependent upon our ability to adapt in this society. How do you think Oprah made it this far? It wasn''t because of the %u201Cblacks%u201D who supported and loved her. View a show and you will see the predominately white faces in the audience.
I love Oprah because she shows the beauty of being a black woman in America. She is educated, successful, intelligent, and kind. She is a great example of many of those who are in the background; those you don%u2019t see everyday that take the train and ride the bus. This is why the comment was offensive to the thousands of us.
I would not label all whites white supremacists because I saw others on Jerry Springer proclaiming white power. You would say %u201Cthat couldn%u2019t be further from the truth. Why would you judge the actions of a few against me %u2013 someone you don%u2019t even know?!%u201D Imagine how it feels to be grouped in such a way.

- Such a BS story.....he was actually having lunch with Sharpton. You think if O''''''''Reilly said this stuff that Sharpton wouldn''''''''t be saying anything?
The LAMEstream media is scared of Fox and they try to slam it every chance they get....even if they have to LIE! - Reply to this comment

- O''Reilly''s comments reminded me of an anthropologist marveling at the very "human-like" behavior of some other species. And that''s the problem. It demonstrates an ignorance by the speker of which he is probably unaware (or unconcerned, but I''ll give him the benefit of the doubt).
O''Reilly has already begun his typical response to being criticized - claim to be misunderstood, misquoted and under attack from "the radical left." But that''s simply not the case. He would gain so much more respect if he''d just man-up and admit that his words were glaringly inappropriate, that he didn''t mean for it to come across the way it did but that he can see the subtextual issue at play in his word-choice, which he intends to examine (though not at ''rehab''). He won''t do that, though. He''s too painfully insecure to own up to anything other than the most trivial of mistakes. And this is most assuredly not trivial. - Reply to this comment
- For those of you who insist that O''Reilly was making racist remarks, a quick view of the actual video will leave you feeling really stupid. Go ahead...

- I can''t believe CBS has not removed this non-story from their website yet. Is it really that slow a news day?
It is already widely accepted that O''Reilly''s comments were not racist, and that he was in fact making fun of a stereotype. For those in doubt, here''s the video:

- jaeidiaz it was only offensive to those who did not take the time to listen to the whole broadcast. And if you want to improve your image and the image of the black community you should be speaking out against HIP HOP which is a poison on your society. All America sees is these no talent lowlifes degrading black men and women. They are a disgrace to all the great black performers and musicians who earned respect from people of all colors. Do something about this cesspool of rappers before they destroy your children%u2019s futures. ,
