"State Sen. Ernie Chambers of Omaha, a Democrat, sued God last week, seeking a permanent injunction against the Almighty for making terroristic threats, inspiring fear and causing "widespread death, destruction and terrorization of millions upon millions of the Earth''s inhabitants."

As fellow Democrat and Atheist I hate to disagree with the good Senator, but the "person" he is referring to is not God, but rather anyone of the legions of idiots that follow this myth once they get into power. Like Bush for instance. There is no god, just mentally ill people who murder in the name of the myth.

AaaBee, If god''s people had "killed all the non believers instead of trying to be politically correct and accept them as they were, I believe that we would have seen the windows of heaven opened and god would have poured out so many blessings that we would think that we already lived in a perfect heaven!

God only gave ten laws in the book of Deuteronomy and no one but Jesus has been able to keep them all. TEN LAWS, how simple you think this would be to keep. The reason we have sickness, wars, broken marriages, etc. is a result of our not keeping god''s laws. One of the first is belief. Check yourself by these ten laws and see if it the reason we have "problems" isn''t found right where you live. We all inherited the sin nature from Adam, but we don''t have to live under sin because Jesus fulfilled the law so that we through faith in Him might through the indwelling of the Holy Ghost be able to live above sin. Not that we won''t sin again but we strive to live without it. Our goal should be to honor God with our lives because Jesus gave His for us that we might have everlasting life. John 3:16 says that god so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes in him should not perish. No god, no peace. Know god, know peace:)

"His response argues that the defendant is immune from some earthly laws and the court lacks jurisdiction"

Boy, sounds like God doesn''t want to take responsibility.

Maybe Ernie needs to specify the God above this one - kinda like a "Supreme God"?

Also, is God an American citizen?

We? Spoken out of the side of your mouth like a true religious hypocrite, Mudrose.

Mat 7:5 Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother''s eye.

LOL stevecburdet, since u want to post bible fiction, let me join you: "So they sent twelve thousand warriors to Jabesh-gilead with orders to kill everyone there, including women and children. "This is what you are to do," they said. "Completely destroy all the males and every woman who is not a virgin." Among the residents of Jabesh-gilead they found four hundred young virgins who had never slept with a man, and they brought them to the camp at Shiloh in the land of Canaan."

Nice god.....nice nice god. Would ths god be alive today, we would send him or her to the court system for mass murder, no?

People are dying to get into hell every day and this guy needs our prayers and most of all the one who can save him fom his own stupidity - Jesus Christ.

Acts 4:12 - "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." Talking of Jesus

LAF! So god took time out from his or her day to respond to this fine suit? How about instead this god spend time healing sick children that fill our hospitals or stop the fighting overseas? How about this god make an appearance to us all and prove once and for all that he or she is real. Will not happen of course, because just as someone made this response up to the courts, someone made up this god and all gods current and prior to this god. Why spend time in Douglas County, Omaha, and not where the real problems are god? Oh, I know, I know%u2026.because god only exists in the minds of the weak and cannot really solve problems.

It%u2019s a shame that the world sees us reading a letter from a god from within our hallowed court system. Had this happened in an Arabic nation, American bible thumpers would tisk and nod their collective heads at the sight%u2026.

like mankind, God denies the charges, has a lawyer
Himself. anthromorphic concepts of God. in the image
of Himself did he make mankind. in the image
of mankind did man make God. and so forth. the
''burning bush'' still talks to moses(symbol of israel).
God as prime mover, is responsible for the behavior
of all His creatures, by the law of special agency,
business law. God aims to make a prophet. what
does it profit a man to gain the whole world but
lose his own soul. as millions will die today from
some physical reason, they wonder? why was i ever
born? from nowhere, going nowhere, for no reason?
or was there a mighty Purpose underlying it all?
another meaningless today for many. eat, sleep
and defecate. just bodies with bodily needs.
progress a grim joke. and the cost of living?
going beyond the reach of the many. malthusian
economics. what a tragedy. as we all go eventually
to the ''gallows'' in allusion, some laugh, some cry.
hang down your head tom dooley, hang down your
head and cry, hang down your head tom dooley, poor
boy you''re bound to die. aren''t we all, tom dooley?

Everyone already knows that one can sue anyone for anythng. All it takes is a hard-up lawyer who will take your case, and an idiot judge who will hear the case.

We have more than enough of both. So this is a HUGE waste of time.

1) Kudos to Senator Chambers. If people think this lawsuit is a total and utter joke/fiasco then they''re right - but that''s the whole point! It''s about time someone actually took action to show Americans how stupid they are when they file these lawsuits (i hope the Judge in D.C. who sued the dry cleaners for losing his pants is paying attention).

2) Triple Kudos to whoever responded - be it "God" or someone on behalf of "God."
