- If you looked at many different sources of information, you''d have seen this reported from the beginning. The mainstream media does not always tell the whole story and some of their reporting is actually more counterproductive to the truth, if anything.

I never said all white are innocent and all blacks are guilty, I don''t feel like that. So, number one don''t but words in my mouth. The tree thing that is stupid and it should have been taken to court not into the peoples own hands. No one white or black, or any color/race has any right to beat anyone up, thats wrong on any level, thats why we have laws in place. Protesting on the street is a sign that people DO NOT have power. Those with power USE the system to get what they want or CHANGE the system to suit them. Those without power HAVE TO MAKE A SCENE typically before anyone WITH POWER will listen to them.

This is not only related to blacks. This is a general issue...all over the world.

We do live in American and you are entitled to your opinion. Too bad I wasn''t it a gang area when this happened, then maybe I would have understood. I have friends in my hometown who are police officers and I told them of the incident and they''ve confirmed that for me. No gangs around! That was not the first time I was approached by a police officer while having a red bandana on, it was the second. Just a coincidence right! No, I''m not blaming the gangs, I''m blaming the cops judgment. If it''s a crime to wear bandana''s, stop selling them.

I understand now why when something happens in the news the first question that many people have is What Color Was The Person? It''s because it is not the facts that shade our opinion of justice, it is the color of the people involved. Anyone with all the facts and viewing it through a colorblind lens would not say that this verdict was fair. Anyone with all the facts who sees that this town allows "whites only" trees would not be able to say without a shadow of doubt that racism had nothing to do with how this case was handled.

Blacks do have power they just want to make a scene. If they didn''t have power they would be protesting all the time but they only do it when it best suits them, and thats ***. Why is it that SEVERAL white guys can beat up a black guy and hit him over the head with a bottle, but only ONE get a misdemeanor fine. Yet, almost the same type of incident happens in reverse and ALL black guys get attempted murder charges?

- Several white guys did beat up one of the black guys and one of the white guys hit him over the head with a bottle. The whites DID NOT have to protest in the streets. People protest in the streets when they have no power otherwise. In that case, all the whites had to do was use the legal system to give ONLY ONE of the white guys a slap on the wrist even though it was an attack by several on one.

Those without power use the streets. Those with power use the laws.

They are not being punished because there black, there being punished because its wrong. No action justifies another beating someone. Hate crime against the white guy too, just because there black doesn''t mean they shouldn''t be charged with a hate crime. The whole red bandanna thing well, thats a well known black gang its there fault you got pulled or whatever, if there wasn''t a gang "bloods" or whatever you wouldn''t have been stopped. If it was a white person with a blue bandanna then it would''ve happened because thats a big gang too, and then it would''ve been there fault. No one gets over blaten racism, or having your freedom taken away because of the color of your skin. Where does sticks and stones come into play or even a good old a## kicking. Neither of those are important at time, what is, is the fact that these boys may loose there freedom and way of life because of the color of their skin.

Have you ever been sitting in the car minding your business and two police officers walk up on you shining flash lights telling you to keep your hands where they can see them. Well I have, an african american women, 38 years of age who works for the Attorney General of MD. That''s called racial profiling in case you didn''t know. My guiltiness at the time was the fact that I had a red bandana on my head sitting in a car with tinted windows. Only when I was asked for my drivers license did I also include my AG id, the cop immediately changed is disposition. But, what if I hadn''t, would my life had been taken away by the stroke of someone''s pen?

The threat made at the school when the nooses were found, basically told all of the african american kids what was up, and now he''s following through with the threat. Nooses hanging in the tree of a school carries many charges, especially when they know who did it. #1 hate crime. Those charges will never be brought up. So there''s no use in even going there.

Just free the kid and treat him like he is COLORLESS. The fight wasn''t 6 kids against 1 - get your facts straight, then come chat.

Actually, six white guys did beat-up one black guy, but ironically only one white guy was charged with "simple battery" and RELEASED on probation...

-December 1, 2006- A black student, Robert Bailey, attends a "white party," is beaten and has a bottle broken over his head. One person was later charged with simple battery for the beating and received probation.

-December 2, 2006- A fight is reported at the Gotta Go convenience store outside of Jena. Investigators say three students beat a man and took his shotgun. The students, one of whom was Robert Bailey- the victim of the beating at the party the previous night, say the man, who was also at the party, pulled a sawed off shot gun on the students. They wrestled the gun away from him and ran away. (The students were later charged with theft of the firearm, second-degree robbery, and disturbing the peace.)
